I would be shocked if next year's budget can carry 2 Championship level goalkeepers.

I would have no problem having Wilson as number 2 to a highly competent GK.

Selling Marosi would attract a fee (to a L1 club) and would remove the highest earning GK at the club.

Poor mistake , convinced the sun plus the unpredictable bounce basically lead to it

I’m of the generation where we’ve welcomed and encouraged stats but I don’t care how and what stats I see; Wilson isn’t a championship keeper in a million years

The stats posted simply say he's been an above average shot stopper in his 25 games that's all which I think is fair. He has far too many flaws though to be a starting goalkeeper at this level & I don't think anyone has ever suggested otherwise.

Both wilson and Marosi are of the same mold as burge. Both decent shot stoppers but suspect at coming of their lines and prone to howlers.
just not good enough at this level if as a club we want to progress

My main gripe with Wilson is that he seems to lose his head and make rash challenges and give away penalties. There have been several times, including yesterday, where he blatantly took a player out but got away with it.

He could now probably get a chance to be a number 1 in League 1, but his lack of experience as a number 1 at his age is telling.

Not forgetting his swipe at Rotherham which if connected would have been a red.

They are all fungible.

I'd go get Stockdale and bench Wilson

Keeper at the relegated team partially responsible for most goals conceded maybe not. Westwood also didn’t look convincing today so for me we need to look elsewhere

I think we only hot the keepers we have due to money being spent elsewhere, and for what they cost, we can hardly complain.

Wilson cost us a point yesterday, but helped us gain a couple against Stoke, that's life with inexperienced keepers.

Once again our budget will be the biggest factor in what MR can do, and he needs to move players out before he can improve the squad, and that might prove to be difficult.

Alsop has been dropped for Stockdale for weeks now. Coincided with their upturn in form too

My Wycombe supporting mate very much disagrees with this. Apparently he’s their POTS and has improved so much since he joined them in L2.

Ryan Alsopp it seems is better than Stockdale so why would we sign him?
Stockdale came in because of an injury to Allsop, had to go on loan to League Two to get a game or two.

Am kind of amazed we're judging a player on two matches for us a couple of seasons back, and now deciding the backup to Allsop is the answer.

FWIW Allsop is younger, so why not him for next season if we're going down that route?!? His contract's up...

Not so sure we will be attracting any fees for anyone we're looking to offload the market just isn't going to be the same as a normal summer IMO .
Bar the obvious couple of players we normally invest in to speculate.

I’d rather have Marosi at number 2 as I think he’s the better keeper - doubt he’d be happy with it though.
We would get a fee for Marosi though and free up a higher earner

Stockdale is not what we want either.
We'll more than likely end up with a loan I'd say.
Their keeper (Preston) Iversen, is on loan from Leicester. Their fans are desperate to keep him.

It seems to me that had that ball not bounced high and Wilson gathered it safely, there would be fewer calling for a new keeper and more claiming Wilson is the answer.

I'm making no comment on his suitability for next season as most on here know far more than I... just commenting on the way this forum operates. My opinion, from this point of ignorance, is that Marosi did OK until he returned from an awful injury and that Wilson did much better than I expected when he came in.

Maybe. But, he has conceded 3 or 4 penalties this season.

Wilson deserves credit for exceeding expectations. But, he’s probably not going to be a reliable starting GK and it’s an area we can probably improve on quite easily too.

Looking at his starting point, by the penalty spot, he’d already decided to go for the ball. The defender Fazd or Hyam must have had a shout but really should have just headed the fecker away. Easier to apologise than concede a goal. Bad decision making still in this season.

The amount of soft goals we have given away compared to the amount that we have received must be a big difference
