To be fair, he was probably signed in a low money deal and it’s a reward for doing “ok”.

Sends a good message to the squad if it is indeed an extension/rise.

Only Burnley and Sheffield United have conceded less goals than us so far this season. The problem is nearly everyone has scored more.

Meh one of them saves us having to replace when money is probably better spent on the defence in front of him. Has done well with our first choice defence playing.

Why is it so popular on here to always hate on at least one player? He's done remarkably well. I was sceptical when he came in based on the odd cup exploit, but after a run in the side he's done well. Moore also did better after a shaky start last year and then improved. I guess he'd have done OK this time too if we'd had to persevere. GKs are a confidence position and I think his understanding has got loads better with the side. His distribution can be infuriating at times, but his primary objective is to keep the ball out of the net and he's hit a number of records in his firs sustained run. He's also not old for a keeper at 30 and I expect he'll be much better again next season. Spend the monet where it's needed.

The defence has done well. He faces fewer difficult shots than almost anyone else in the league.

I've seen afew games where he has pulled off some Great stops

I hope he's cheap. Can cope with him as reserve (and guess we've seen how we need a reserve keeper the past couple of years!) but please God let us have a proper first choice.

Fucking hell.
At least his fanboys will be happy to see him as number 1 next season, I suppose.
Bit out of order you had to find out this way tbh mate. We can only hope its to tie down a long term number 2, in which case fair enough.

Got to be honest, I think the general standard of keeping has been poor for a while.
Seen some very poor performances in the EPL of late.

I wonder if the trend for keepers playing out from the back has been at to the detriment of those with the ability to catch the ball and stop shots, I appreciate Wilsons distribution isn't great but it was more a general point.

I really hope the fact we can waste money on long deals for Eccles and Wilson means there’s more to come elsewhere. Because if not this is terrible use of budget.
Wait until you hear about the chandeliers Robins has had put up at the training ground.

Absolutely no problem with him being number 2 next season.

Pretty sure we'll sign a new keeper in the summer and bin Moore off.

He's really not great but the stick he gets on here from some is way over the top

I have no problem with him signing an extension as long as that’s the intention, but then again Moore still has another year left on his contract. Who’s going to take him off our hands, unless something is already in the pipeline?

As for the assertions that he’s done remarkably well, I have to disagree. He’s done ok, but still susceptible to errors, doesn’t command his area and his kicking and distribution is inconsistent. He will do for now but if we have genuine aspirations to kick on next season, it is a key position that we need to address and improve on. He has been well protected by the defence and isn’t often tested. Saying that, he’s certainly improved and makes the odd save which borders on fantastic, but too Burge-esque for me.
