Any player who’s contract is ending should get Wilson’s agent he is a miracle worker.

Wilson is a liability and if you want to be properly challenging at the top you need far better than him.

The quality of our back three and GK is a major problem with the team. Drags the wingbacks and Hamer and Sheaf and Allen back to help them out. Makes the whole team play deeper. Hopefully someone takes Moore off our hands in the summer and we can get a proper keeper in who can either distribute the ball or command his area if not both.

Sorry this is just a bad deal

I really hope the fact we can waste money on long deals for Eccles and Wilson means there’s more to come elsewhere. Because if not this is terrible use of budget.

Got to attract those top class athletes like *checks notes* Ben Wilson

Im a nice lad who wants to be at the club. Can I get a contract?

All in 20 minutes.

Call me crazy but I'm picking up a vibe here, I'm thinking you are.... not a fan, right?

Since he is the equivalent of Biamou in goal I'd say the latter is probably feeling a bit miffed he didn't get in on these charitable contract extensions.

We've now made it so that if we want to offload either of our two keepers we have to find someone willing to take them. We don't seem to ever learn.

I can’t imagine there was a queue at the door to sign, we could have left this until the summer when we have more idea on the future of Moore, we are now stuck with two hopeless goalkeepers under contract.

Fine with this if hes going to be number 2 and we bin Moore off for a new experienced Keeper

If not and hes going to be number 1 then thats fucking terrible use of funds

Why is it so popular on here to always hate on at least one player? He's done remarkably well. I was sceptical when he came in based on the odd cup exploit, but after a run in the side he's done well. Moore also did better after a shaky start last year and then improved. I guess he'd have done OK this time too if we'd had to persevere. GKs are a confidence position and I think his understanding has got loads better with the side. His distribution can be infuriating at times, but his primary objective is to keep the ball out of the net and he's hit a number of records in his firs sustained run. He's also not old for a keeper at 30 and I expect he'll be much better again next season. Spend the monet where it's needed.
He's improved a lot this season and tbh if the manager and coaching staff think he deserves a new contract that's good enough for me.
We also have a very highly rated young goalkeeper coming through in Luke Bell.

Less than six months left on his deal, you have to think Big Doug is nervously tapping his ballet shoes as we speak.

The whole Bundesliga is lining up to get him on a pre contract already. Dortmund are the favourites, Bellingham put in a word.

Wilson shot stopping has improved this season, but he doesn't command his penalty area and is poor on crosses. I'm struggling to think of any crosses outside his 6 yard box that he's claimed this season.
As a number 2 he's okay, but we definitely need a better keeper on crosses if only to take the pressure off our back 3.

I guess it depends on how much he's getting. If it's not that much having him as No.2 would be fine, if it weren't for Moore still being contracted next year as well. I'm sure we'll be looking to let him go on a free to bring in someone else but if we fail to do that then there's pretty much no chance we'll be upgrading this vital position in the summer either.

I'd also hoped that at least one of the younger keepers would be ready to fill in on the bench but this makes it pretty likely Billson and Tyler will be being released.

Fucking hell anyone would think he’s the second coming of Raffaele Nuzzo based on the comments here - The lads kept how many clean sheets this season :ROFLMAO:

Whats hi s worth in the transfer market?

Moore is still under contract next season - But judging by the type of character he is I can see him agreeing to tear his contract up early to go and pay

he’s played less than 200 games in his career and most in league 1 - what are you basing that view on?

People need to have a bit of a reality check and think back to the dross we saw pre Robins.

You don't replace a whole team overnight, summer is a massive job and is already going to be the biggest transfer window in terms of squad turnover probably since league 2 as it stands.

People praise Robins for the TEAMS he has created and that is built on the basis of good characters and team players. Whether Wilson is number 1 or 2 next year he is a part of that. Same as Kelly, Dabo, Fadz, Godden, Allen etc. There is no doubt we will slowly need to phase these players out to reach the next level. But if you do it all at once I guarantee we will end up worse rather than better. It's evident some people have never managed in any type of business, by the lack of understanding of team dynamics.

Wilson is hardly going to be on hard wages and the stats don't really lie. We already need 3/4 new starting defenders next year as it stands. A bit of continuity isn't a bad thing.

I can see Moore going to a top 6 League One team.

He's presumably on a higher wage than Wilson so it makes sense to bin him off and keep Wilson, and sign a new no1.

Quite how people see that as a bad use of funds I'm not sure.

He was signed as a Championship player and would likely need us to pay a percentage of his wages - it's just wasting money.

He seems a good professional, they both do - I think he will be disappointed at how things have panned out here and will want to go and play
