Assuming we make play offs this time and comparing with the play off final team, I'd go for:

Dovin

MVE
Thomas
Doyle
Bidwell

Hamer
Grimes
Rudoni

Saka
Vik
Wright

So just 4 players from the play off final albeit 2 of our all time superstars. Really wanted Fadz in there as cap but doesn't work in a 4.

I'd have EMClarke over Wright (if going 433) and a very close call but Mcnally over Thomas (as sparks said).

Always felt like with Vik we’d have stood a good chance of staying up.

8 new starters needed elsewhere but there’s the 15 goal man, and the guy who’s going to give every PL defence a hard game.

Love the current team but there’s no guarantees any of them make the grade a level up.

Big Doyle fan, but not sure in a 2. I actually think I'd try him at LB as he's an upgrade on JB or JDS there. I dont normally like players out of position, but I'd also put Ohare in an unfamiliar RW role as again I like Tats, but I think we need to find a role for Ohare.
Hardest for me to select is Haji or EMC. Vik has to start, so very difficult to leave either out, tough call. Would probably go ...

GK: Dovin
RB: MVE
CB: Thomas
CB: Kitching
LB: Doyle
M: Hamer
M: Sheaf
M: Rudoni
LW: Haji / EMC
RW: O'Hare
ST: Vik

Bench:
Wilson
McNally
Grimes
Torp
Tats
Haji / EMC
Simms

O'Hare was out for the season in our playoff season

Okay Bobby Thomas is the new Bobby Moore. I must be imagining his inability and adopted a populist point of view.
So he's either Bobby Moore or Non-League and there are no levels in between. I dont think anyone suggested he was Bobby Moore, but his short passing is fine. He gets it wrong sometimes when he tries to be progressive, but I dont mind that because he's decent in both boxes and still young enough to improve other aspects. One of our players of the season imo.

Outside of the 0-4 drubbing off Stoke, Mcnally conceded 11 goals in 16 games with us here. Thomas and Kitching, despite looking better are conceding nearly 2 goals most games.

People really have their sky blue tinted specs on around this.

You are not really comparing apples with apples though, McNally played in a back 3 with a team set up to defend and hit teams on the break. Thomas and Kitching have played mostly in a back 4 in a team, especially under Lampard, that leaves itself far more open.

McNally as good as he was in his loan spell was utterly embarrassed in that first half vs Luton at Wembley.
