In my time supporting city are in this order:

1. Glazier
2. Blyth
3. Oggy

He was good. Organised the defence well etc. But had about three shots to save in those two games combined.

I think that he only faced such little amount of shots because he organised so well. He was always talking to the defenders. Absolutely brilliant.

I only saw Glazier in his last few seasons but I remember him as quite an iconic figure. His dives to save the ball were balletic & visually exciting to watch.

As for the Oggy v Blyth debate I would pick Blyth too. Obviously Oggy's longevity was incredible, but for me Blyth was a more complete keeper, capable of miraculous saves at times. It was just a shame he was affected so badly by injuries.

On a technicality Kasper Schmeichel?! Only a few games on loan but definitely had the best career of any recent gk to have played for Cov.

Owned by us Westwood was easily the best post prem goalkeeper.

Another loan keeper who I thought was immense for us and who I really wanted us to sign was Stephen Bywater.

Yep i remember this too...was a young kid, and i sat about 6 rows back behind the goal, and he turned and picked the ball out of the net with a massive smile on his face and laughed...not popular

Sat closer than you that day right at the front about the only time in 60 odd years.When asked if he let it in he said" yes and if i get a chance I will let more in" didn't like the sacking of Sexton.
By the way Glazer best i've seen in a city shirt.

History will look back kinder on Burge, he's nowhere near as bad as the majority of this forum make him out to be. The same thing happened with Murphy, who used to get dogs abuse from our fans when he was a player.

Despite his reputation here he has technically been a Premier League player, although I don't think he actually played.

I seem to remember we signed him up based upon his performance against us vs Crewe in the FA Cup, he was immense that day and they beat us 1-0.

Was sat behind the goal that game, he saved absolutely everything , was one of the Best GK performances I’ve ever seen! I’m sure he got an applause from the crowd at full time .

You read my mind Blind Faith. Paddy Kenny was in goals against us for Sheffield United in the FA Cup quarter final at HR. That was the best display I have seen by a keeper at HR. We battered United that day but couldn't find a way past Kenny. He was outstanding. Resulting in that heartbreaking replay.

You read my mind Blind Faith. Paddy Kenny was in goals against us for Sheffield United in the FA Cup quarter final at HR. That was the best display I have seen by a keeper at HR. We battered United that day but couldn't find a way past Kenny. He was outstanding. Resulting in that heartbreaking replay.

Every time I think of that game the incident that springs to mind is Oggy's chase back into goal. I can't remember now how it came about and how Oggy, who is my favourite City keeper but who is certainly no Marosi with the ball at his feet, was so far out of goal. Someone will remind me. I think the score at the time was 1-1 and with the game drawing to a close, it was likely that the next goal would win. Anyway somehow we lost the ball with Oggy half way up the pitch. The ball was played through to a Sheffield forward who was then in a chase with Oggy to see if he could reach the all first and turn I into the empty goal. I doubt that Oggy has ever run so fast in his life before and considering he was well into his thirties by this stage of his career he somehow managed to keep up with the young Utd player and prevent a goal. On reflection, had they scored it would have saved us the heartbreak of the replay, Moldovan's miss and Nilson's mistake for their last minute corner.

I had to watch this incident on youtube just to see the unbelievable sight of Oggy sprinting against and keeping up with a fast striker!

The situation was that Oggy was routinely clearing a back pass from outside the area. As ISB says for all his qualities Oggy was no Marosi with the ball at his feet. The attempted clearance ricocheted against the forward and both Oggy and the United forward raced for the ball/goal. The ball rebounded a little to the left which gave Oggy a shorter distance back to the net - that's what saved the situation. The striker shot and Oggy was just back in time to deflect out for a corner.

Oggy looked absolutely knackered/relieved that he hadn't cost us the quarter final.

I do often wonder if things would have turned out differently if we'd won the Cup that year - in a sliding doors moment perhaps Strachan might have been offered a big job he couldn't refuse, we'd have had a decent coach and today we'd be competing with Leicester to be the Midlands premier club.
