Is that with him from Dumb and dumber? Switches off after 5 minutes.
That's the one, Jeff Daniels. He was also in The Newsroom which was great but sadly only lasted 3 seasons. Every now and then there's talk of it coming back but never seems to get off the ground.

I gave up on American Rust after about 15 minutes. Not much was happening and everyone seemed miserable. Looked at the reviews and it got a panning. Also had very low ratings so would seem not much chance of a series 2 so didn't seem worth sticking with it to see if it got any better.

Currently watching the underground railroad. Based on the slavery trafficking thing. Pretty dark but also has a fantasy edge to it.

You're the worst is a good sitcom if you like cynicism, not sure where to get it unless you're a buccaneer.

S3 of what we do in the shadows is very good too

Tried Rutherford Falls, a sitom created by and starring Ed Helms with the help of the guy that did the US Office, Parks & Rec, The Good Place

2 episodes in and so far it's terrible. Might give it one more before giving up.

The one with Olivia Coleman coming out soon looks good. Landscapers, advertised everywhere.
David Thewlis in that as well, he was great in Fargo. Was reading about it and it seems its based on a real crime but there's not many details know so its not really 'true crime' in the way some other recent series have been. The early reviews are really good.

Anyone watched the James Blunt thing on beer?

Have to confess to liking him although he’s another who is ‘popular’ to dislike.

I've just fell asleep during the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special for about the 12th time.

Is it worth staying awake until the end?

Yes. Classic
I will make an effort.

I always seem to get to the bit where the lady who is dressed as Santa makes the one with the lovely eyes sit on her knee, then that's it.

Droopy eyes and I'm gone.

Started A Plot Against America on Sky Atlantic. Ties in nicely with my recent fascination with WW2. Decent so far.
Yeah, seen it. It was pretty good, but I wanted more from it and wanted more about Lindberg and the changing face of the US. I enjoyed it though.

Has anyone else started watching Wheel of Time on Amazon? Watched 3 episodes so far - am interested to see where it goes.

Eps 4and 5 are an improvement on first 3 but still quite slow. I was expecting more action for this type of production but it’s an ok watch.

Invasion on Apple I like it.
I'm enjoying it more than Foundation yet Foundation got rave reviews and Invasion has been mixed at best. Last weeks seemed like a season finale so be interesting to see where they are going to go with the actual season finale this week.

Yes I liked foundation too but I like invasion more too like you say mixed reviews so went in with open mind. But it’s better than foundation in my opinion.

Enjoying The Landscapers. Top, top performances from both David Thwelis and Olivia Colman, who are utterly brilliant.

It has a surreal, theatre-y feel to it at times, as it swings between reality and fantasy, but it all works.

Great stuff.

Yeah I liked the Nottingham humour, the copper who just swears all the time.

Watched 2 Episodes of 'Mayor of Kingstown' last night.
Interesting story if a little OTT, but a good watch so far...

The McLusky family are power brokers tackling themes of systemic racism, corruption and inequality in Kingstown, Michigan--where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry.
