Planning to watch the new Dexter but I guess like most it’s been years since I finished the original series.

Do I need to re-watch/read a summary or is it well recapped?

Bit disappointed by Hawkeye, MCU series seem to follow this pattern where nothing happens in the first half of the season so hopefully it’ll get better the last two.

Those of you musically bias might like the Phil Lynott doc on BBC 4 - very interesting look at his life - was a great character and fantastic writer of words and music

I've just started on The Watch, only 2 episodes in so far. Its 'inspired by' Terry Pratchett's Discworld books, or as the title suggests more specifically the watch that feature in them. It got torn apart by critics and fans but I'm quite enjoying it.

Its certainly not the Discworld of Pratchett's books but if you can get past that its enjoyable enough. I think the problem is its not close enough to the source material to be an adaption but its not different enough to not be Pratchett if that makes sense. If you changed the names of characters and locations in it you'd have people saying it was a Pratchett rip off.

Not sure why the changes were made, its not anything that's been done to make it more TV friendly. Seems they've changed things for the sake of it and to try to make it cyber-punk.

Only 8 episodes and all on iPlayer.

Watched Venom 2. Load of old bollocks.

Well disappointing isn't it
I think the Venom/Tom Hardy character is really good but the storyline and pacing is so rushed.

Hopefully the after credits scene means they'll be involved in better films in the future!

Thought the first one was dross tbf so haven’t bothered with the second.

Saw Tenet last night. Can’t decide if it was fantastic or dreadful. Looking back it might have been unnecessarily complicated to the extent there were numerous glaring plot holes or I’m just too stupid to pick up on everything of relevance in it.

Post credits scene was the highlight of the movie. Features some great actors but was almost as messy as the first movie

I had the same feeling about Tenet, it was being too clever.

Started watching Lanscapers last night. First episode so far only. Strange.

However, I just watched this, and it's gone some way towards restoring my faith in humanity.
What Kev is doing for Rob Burrow and Motor Neurone Disease research in general is nothing short of incredible.

Wrath of Man on Amazon Prime. New Guy Ritchie movie. Very good, fast paced and plenty of action.

Landscapers not keen be better if done as a gritty drama than comedy drama.
Watched this over the last few days.
I'm still not sure why it was produced in that way and seemed like it was just hashed together and didn't work at all.
Verdict : What a load of shite.

Yeah I gave up with it when they started having the characters stood there in a weird perspective watching stuff.

I think it was trying to be edgy and arty but if they had kept it as a crime drama (like Des) it would have been so much better.

The actual story of it all was pretty shit too and not enough for a multi part series.

No, I don't think they were being edgy and arty. I think the whole idea was that they were fantasists, so that was how it was played out. So one minute it was an old black and white movie and then the next, it was a western etc., so it did make sense. I can see how some found it off-putting though

I stuck with it and enjoyed it. I didn't think it was brilliant, but the performances were a marvel. Definitely think Colman and Thewlis will be up for many awards.

Also very good, if very sad-what a fantastic lyricist.

Yeah, the bit where they get on a horse? What's that all about.

That was because Gary Cooper was her hero wasn't it? He starred in lots of cowboy movies, so that's what I got from it. Cowboys ride horses.

I just seemed to work it out. No idea why.

As soon as I saw all.those people in the field watching them, I just automatically assumed it was the jury. And in a later episode, it proved to be just the case.

Don't get me wrong, I do quite often get things completely wrong with shows and films.

This one just seemed to fall into place for me. It was all played out as a fantasy.

Spot on.
I did watch the final three episodes in one evening, so I obviously didn't hate it that much.
Strange, but oddly compelling, and as you say, some very good performances.

Wrath of Man on Amazon Prime

Guy Richie and Jason Statham being Guy Richie and Jason Statham. Ridiculous plot with lots of shooty shooty and a typical guy Ritchie script.

7/10
