BIG BEN v the BACK FOUR (1 Viewer)

Now that the best defender on the books is near for first team duty again - who will make way ???

Possibly only two scenarios:

Keogh Turner Cranie Hussey

or

Cranie Keogh Turner Hussey

Which do you prefer ???

Personally, I would prefer Keogh - Cranie - Turner - Hussey, though it would be very harsh to drop Cyrus Christie, who has been a revelation so far.

I think it was one of the CWR presenters recently who said he was the player they intended to sell to Brum raise a transfer budget & the manager would not get all of that money.
I think he will go, on loan with view to perm. transfer as soon as he proves fitness.

should wait his turn, still strongly believe he won't be in our plans for too much longer

Can't see him walking back in to be fair. Wouldn't drop Cyrus either. Why change for changes sake? I don't think The back four needs changing really. Keogh and Craine have been superb at centre backs IMO.

Looks like he's playing left back then (no ones mentioned Hussey :D)

I hope he comes back and does well, but I have a feeling he wont return the player he was before his injury!

Its always difficult a CB being out the team as theres never really a good time to bring a CB off the bench, unless its for an injury. Its very rare a manager will change his back 4 in a game, in fear of it unsettling the momentum.

I definately cant see AT moving Keough back to RB. So I think it leaves Crainie to either move over to RB if AT thinks Christie needs a rest, or Crainie being the one to be dropped if AT feels Turner is ready to come back into the team.

If he did return to form, he'd be a hell of a loss if we did sell him (but we all know what to expect with SISU at the helm!!)

err quite a few people have mentioned Hussey??

He is the most reliable centre half we have so has to come back, Christie has done well but i do not think he will handle a full team spot for the entire season however he is holding his own.

As good as he was last year, he doesn't deserve to walk straight back into the team.

As others have said, our defence has been pretty good so far. Christie is a bit raw but has done very well. Keogh v Palace was as good as any performance turner put in last year.

Turner should only be given his chance when someone is injured/suspended

All well and good but we have lost every game except one so maybe he should go straight back in.
If we could swap strikers cos they are not scoring (if we had some) then surely it works the othe way

I think Turner probably has to build up match fitness so will probably be on the bench to begin with.

However I think people are getting a little carried away with Christie who I watched get destroyed by Wilfred Zaha at Palace!

Personally would pick 2 of 3 from McPake, Turner and Wood when fit and drop Hussey and rest Christie.

However agree we are not too bad defensively......to be honest are there any other unhidden gems that can at least put our misfiring midfielders and forwards under pressure.....these are clearly the areas where we are struggling! :(

Hope we pull off a signing or two in next few days but sad to say I am not that hopeful!!

AT prefers CBs that can pass - where does that leave Turner? Personally I'd go for: Keogh - Cranie - Turner - Hussey, however we've also got Clarke to return soon.....

Turner scores goals as well - play him alongside Juke :guitar2:

If Turner is fit then he has to go back in as he was a tower for us last year up until his injury. Would there not be an argument for moving keough back to his reight back position and pushing cyrus to the right of midfield?, cant do any worse than bell or baker have been there this season

How about -
Keogh Turner Wood ( when fit) Cranie

Christie Biggy, Clingan, Hussey

Freddy, Juke

wouldn't score many - but Hussey and Christie could bomb up and down the flanks and drop back to defend - lots of 0-0 draws but hey better than losing!!!!

Hmmm hav to say that's an interesting point! Could see Christie playing wide in the diamond floating balls in.

I also quite like that SP4916 - there is indeed some similarity in the positions and style of play with "wingbacks" and "wide midfield" players.

I could definetly see Christie and Hussey bombing up the flanks a bit like the Gareth Bale conversion at Spurs (obviously not as good) but definitely worth a shout at sometime during the game as an impact formation.

Good lateral thinking that.

how about Keogh Cranie Turner and sign a new left back when/if the takeover goes thru!

Greg Cunningham on loan off Man City would be a top signing.
