Big Eck clapped wolves banner (1 Viewer)

I just happened by pure chance to sit next to big eck today. What a nice bloke and he clapped as I did when the wolves fans brought on the banner ! Well done to them for doing so and doubling the crowd.

Well done to the guys on the hill, could hear and see the drum today, my second match at skittyfield, if it was not for my mate wasting good money on corporate seats I would not have gone.

Tim fisher looks a smug and ugly in person as he does on his pictures to !

If I would rate the facilities for the fat cats in corporate at the Ricoh as 8/10 I rate Northampton's ground as 3/10 if only for the friendly staff.... What a hole.

You must have some excellent eyesight mate, there was no drum, lol. Wolves fans today were top notch and had good banter on the hill with them. Fair play to the panjabi wolves as well for the banner, but where was the curry, lol. As for next season, I can see it being much worse than this. Elvis has done a great job, and I hope the budget is not cut too much, just hope he doesn't walk

Skittyfield?? Must be a typo, if not it's the worst one anyone's come up with, and that's an achievement.
Fair play to the Wolves fans, the hillbillies and the ever faithful sixfielders. It's been a wretched season, but we're still fighting.

Top lads.

I see the thread on this subject on gmk has turned into casual racism. Thank god we can discuss things on this site without stopping to that level.

Racism: The belief that all members of each race possess characteristics, abilities, or qualities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races.

Alright, tell me how (mostly shit) puns on Indian food is racist. Who is implying that they are better than anyone else?

So casually slipping the word Paki into a sentence isn't racist? It's not even factual racism. The Punjab is in India not Pakistan. But then I guess you think they all look the same so it doesn't matter.

You're an idiot.

Yep that would be racist, but that word hasn't been used has it? Imagining that word has been used when it hasn't is also a bit worrying no? US tried to use a Pakistan pun but has been told that the Punjab isn't in Pakistan.

As a GMKer I'm embarrassed by the shit quality of that thread but as a SBTer I'm equally embarrassed that this is used as evidence of the intellectual superiority if this site.

Tsk now. It's well known that Cambridge University decide their intake by how often candidates drop the word Shitfields into conversation and berate people for going to a football match.

Repeating everything that has been said above, but it's hardly a shining example of racism, is it...

How many threads on GMK, here, and countless other internet forums descend into crap pun humour. Should we feel uncomfortable about making quips about takeaway food just because it might be held up as racist? What is the scottish or welsh had been the subject of the puns, is that ok?

To take it as proof of 'intellectual superiority' should defy belief, but is actually par for the course on here, where Shitfields/Suxfields puns are held up as 'humour', and the thought of a pub full of blokes ganging up on Tim Fisher (whatever you may think of him) is seen as acceptable and deserved by some.

The one good point I have seen made is "do we need a separate Punjabi/Polish/etc branch of supporters.....?" Personally I see Wolverhampton as pretty similar to Coventry/Leicester/Birmingham, with a large mix of ethnic groups, pretty well integrated generally. So I can't really see the need for a separate group of fans, but as a white English male maybe i do not have the best point of view. TO be honest if it's encouraging more people to attend matches then it's not a problem.

True that you see the odd comment on here but I'm pretty sure we've never managed to turn a whole thread into a poor man's Bernard Manning routine from the seventies. I remember 2 on gmk in the same amount of months.

Nah people on here just threaten to harass tim fishers kids and that.

So if it was about pressley and somebody said something about haggis or irn bru then you will be moaning about it?

Would you balls

For the record grendull I've never claimed to be the sharpest tool in the box but I'm definitely not in afraid.

What is "in afraid" anyway? You're a tool, perhaps you could explain it? Sorry, I meant sharp tool.

Oh. By the way, I never mentioned intellectual superiority that was someone else. So when you said it was only me I guess we can add that to the long list of grendulls estimated facts.

Well yes you have a point. GMK isn't fortunate enough to have towering intellects and bastions of political correctness. I guess they should be trying to recruit the likes of sky blue kid a man known for his measured posting. How about bigfatron? He can do his Hitler joke - its a rib buster. Then I guess the final coup de gras will be the recruiting of Rob(the numbers escape me) who can do his "all sixfielders can die in a car crash" routine.

Yes that certainly would set the bar to a whole new level.

You must have slept through the 1st half then Zam as Steve was bashing the drum for quite a while! Agree with you about the Wolves fans, they all joined in the FIX FOOTBALL demo and the Punjabi lads were excellent, making a point of coming up on the Hill before the game to show their support.

Its completely the opposite they get more asians into supporting their local club instead of them choosing man utd, liverpool, arsenal etc. Thats the problem we have in Coventry, theres no big asian fanbase. It seems they integrate well too with the greater wolves supporters.

I work with a punjabi lad from Coventry. He's born and bred in Coventry as were both his parents. He supports Liverpool.

I think you've made a very good point.

I work with a Caucasion, English lad from Coventry. He's born and bred in Coventry as were both his parents. He supports Liverpool.

Does it mean he's Punjabi then?
