I get your point. He shouldn't meddle in football related activities, etc. but how do we know he wasn't thinking that if Sharp was the standard of player we could get for the money available he didn't think to himself, "fuck that" and increased the budget? I know what you're saying but I'd imagine Robins got over not being allowed to get fat Billy pretty quickly when King sanctioned the signings of Simms and Wright for several million pounds.
