I understand the point and I don’t dislike loans either but I think the owner of the club with a proven track record in business has to be the one who determines the business plan, not the football manager.We fell short to due a lack of squad depth, as demonstrated by the end of season form. From what’s been said it was very much a King policy; personally, I’d rather those kind of decisions were left to those with actual experience in the game.
Our plan is to predominantly have our own players, who we can develop, trade on , and bring up the average capability of the team.
Managers naturally always want proven players because they are judged in the very short term. You never ever hear a manager say we just need a sprinkle of younger players …. If you let them determine the business plan you end up in a mess like almost every club Harry Redknapp managed ….
