Will they be docked points next season and punished?

Imagine if they get relegated from league 1 after being 2 points from safety if they were docked 3 points for it.

Shouldn't we be giving the protesters a medal?

Good job it isn't somebody trying to get on the Ricoh pitch on one of those, would have to be lifted back out!

Don't clubs usually get punished for not finishing games etc?

Sorry, I can't remember saying that the Blackpool fans don't know.

I was asking the question.

You're making it sound like these protesters haven't even considered the ramifications of making such a dramatic stand. Luckily we have you in your infinite wisdom to point out why it would be safer to just protest politely.

Can you point out to me where I said that?

I was asking what the punishments are for it?

It's tedious rhetorical questions like this that suggest you see yourself as one step ahead of the protesters. Of course they imagined that. Everyone knows the FA threatens point deductions for pitch invasions (even if they rarely actually do it). Guess what - they invaded anyway.

Do you really think I said that thinking I was cleverer and that nobody else knew? Jesus Christ.

Given your love of smug rhetorical questions (Look - there's another one up there!), I find it easier to believe than thinking you genuinely didn't know point deductions were possible for pitch invasions. I assumed you knew more about football than that. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If they did get a points deduction would it be applied this season? Is it just administration where it can be carried over to next year?

Strange how people on here slagged off the legend Alan MUKI Howe for going on the pitch at Arsenal , and having the balls to take a 3 year ban. Blackpool fans do it and their the best thing since sliced bread. I think we missed our chance to show SISU and the football league what we really think .. Never mind maybe next year hey !!!!!

Fuck sake Dave, do you not think the protesters knew this? They should be given a medal.

Can you tell me the outcome that will happen then if you know everything?

Nice to see the spirit of activism is alive and well on this board. Presumably the suffragettes were guilty of ruining a perfectly good horse race, and Rosa Parks was a thug bent on disrupting timely bus connections to Montgomery.

Steady on.

I don't know everything, so couldn't say for sure, but I'll take it slowly for those who don't know the basics.

Like most fans, I know the FA could threaten them with a points deduction. Historically, I can't find any examples of a club being deducted points for a pitch invasion, except for Brighton, which was their second offence after a suspended deduction. The fact this game was actually abandoned, and the fact it's the last game of the season (complicating the ability to reschedule) may impact on the FA's decision. Again, I don't have any specialist knowledge here - this is just my basic knowledge.

I don't frequent Blackpool forums (thank god), so I can't say for definite, but I would imagine there's been some robust debate about the rights and wrongs of protesting this way, and the possible punishments it could incur. Clearly a sizeable group of fans (including those who didn't invade, but stayed and applauded the ones who did) are aware of the risks, but believe their cause is ultimately more important. Personally I think that's commendable. Of course, I accept there are those who prioritise stability/maintaining business as usual above all other concerns. Clearly there are plenty on here who fit into that camp - good luck to them all.

Don't forget those nasty Greenpeace types starving the poor Japanese. They all have a rare condition you know that means they're intolerant to food that isn't whale.

I cant imagine the game will be replayed...there was nothing riding on it...potentially only some extra money for Huddersfield had they won, they would've finished a place higher.

My guess is that the FA/FL will deduct some of Blackpools money and maybe give it to Huddersfield to compensate them for potentially finishing one place lower than they might of.

I already said I don't know what they can do.

They've got your attention so it clearly worked. It seems to have got everyone's attention so the FL are clearly going to have to respond which means they're going to have to form an opinion one way or the other. A job well done.

My only worry if we did it is what the sanctions/fines etc would be. I'm all for protesting, but if it does indeed end up in a points deduction for them that's not the route I would want us to go down.

So if we're drawing 0-0 with 2 minutes to go tomorrow, don't go on to the field of play, there's good chaps!
