Because it's the way people bang on making out it's all about the morals and some weird justification they need for going.

Bottom line though, who gives a fuck what other people don't want to spend their money on?

It's fairly simple isn't it, the Blackpool fans are just saying fair play for you to want to come and watch your team play away here but please don't spend any more than you have to so our corrupt owners can't filch even more money.

What a dismal view of the world and the people in it. No one ever does anything for a principle of from a moral point of view. They only ever do anything for anyone else to make themselves feel better, earn likes and get themselves backslaps.Sad.

You could go M1 to M60 and across to north of Manchester will put extra mileage to journey but no major roadworks, my lad lives in Wigan area and the M6 is a constant nightmare at the minute.

Or people claim to be doing things for moral reasons?

I'm not getting my car washed today, I should really be claiming it's because I care for Romanian people smuggling and slavery. When I go next time I'll just have the outside washed.

Like I said, I missed trick last time as I could have announced I wasn't going to eat at the Blackpool game and that I'm sadly not going tomorrow. In reality im working and the last game I got some food before we went to the game and a drink from a shop to walk down with.

Not eating or drinking for 90 minutes after you have paid 4 times as much to go in isn't really making a stand, is it? It's trying to justify going in for some reason, like a compromise.

It'll make the journey nearly 200 miles, although yes the M62 roadworks have finally been completed after 4 years!

Who are these people you are referring to that are claiming it is for moral reasons? I don't understand why their personal choices are angering you so much?

Clearly not angry...

Read the thread, I didn't make it up randomly. I replied to somebody who said about it.

Stop being so obtuse Nick. It's a reasonable compromise that meets the priorities of (1) supporting the team whilst (2) giving limited income to the Oystons.

I'm just pointing out the obvious when people start to make things about morals and doing it for the other fans.

Another option is the A50 to Warrington, slower but similar mileage to M6 but not sure what it’s like late afternoon, you go past Trentham gardens so could get busy there.

Read it, there is one person saying he won't be buying food or drink at the game. Hardly 'people banging on about it'

It isn't really is it? It's just not making things out to be because of morals for the sake of it.

Of course people will do things because of their principles, most of them just get on with it and don't need to be asked by others or do it to try and please them and make out it's for a "cause".

Nick - I agree that some people may claim they do things for morals but would have been doing it anyway - eg NOPM when they don't go to games anyway.

But if no-one did share that the Blackpool fans were asking for people not to make additional purchases, how would anyone know. It may only be a small gesture of support but it all adds up.

There were opposition fans who stood on the hill at Northampton, yes it probably did make them feel better and made no difference at all to the outcome but at times it is good to try and make a point and sometimes small things can make a difference.

Oh, if people are going to Blackpool to stand out with their fans it's completely different and fair play to them. That really is making a stand.

Surely Principles and Morals people don't need to be told? Unless people going to the game are going to stand and sing about hating Oyston after buying tickets to go in and filling up at the bar with beer and food and not giving it a second thought.

It's like somebody being stood outside a Nike shop telling me that they use child workers and me agreeing that I will just buy trainers and will get the addon shoe protection stuff from one of the dozens of other shops that sell it around there where it is cheaper and better quality anyway.

Your not buying trainers analogy is strong.

I'm not going to buy shit trainer protection stuff from Nike anyway when I can get it round the corner for cheaper and it does a better job. ;)

Plus I do need a new pair of trainers so have been looking.

Seems pretty simple to me. They have to pay something to get in and support their team but don’t want to give the owners anymore than they have to.
What’s wrong with that.
Most of their supporters have boycotted the games. The Oystons are now close to leaving. But the person they owe the money to is banned from running a club.

I just though it would be nice if you could debate opinion without being sarcastic or condescending.

You're wasting your time with him, he's an Internet bully.

I'm going to stick to the simpleton approach of just going to watch 22 men kick a ball around and hoping the ones in blue score more

Plenty of leaflets handed out around the ground.

Basically saying: 'We don't want to stop you supporting your team but the less you can spend the better'.

Who's 'banging on' about it?
He is,as admin of the site he argues the toss about anything. I agree with the vast majority of posters who say they will buy a ticket to see their team, but not line the owners pockets further by buying anything in the ground.
It’s a small thing granted, but every little helps as they say.
He maintains his argument is that people are spouting moral reasons and making a big thing about it,when it is clear the only person making it an issue is him.

People do try to make things about moral reasons. I could make out I'm doing or not doing loads of things today because of morals to either make myself or other people think I am doing it for the cause when in reality it isn't. It's nonsense.

If you really hate the Oystons and wanted to make a point you wouldn't be going in at all, it's like refusing to give CCFC any money to starve SISU and then rocking up to Wembley or only buying the home shirt and not the shorts and socks. That's the issue when people make things about principles and morals too much, they usually have to move the goalposts a little bit.

Nick, the majority of posters did not spout moral reasons. People were just trying to show support for the Blackpool fans.
They realise it’s a token contribution but as I said “ every little helps “
Can’t you just let some things go and keep your opinions to yourself, most of us do just to save arguing.

Surely it is a moral reason if they are doing it to support Blackpool fans?

Like I said, I didn't go last night to support the Blackpool fans. We can all jump on it to seem like we are doing things for the cause.
