I hate Twitter, it is a cesspit, but equally I'm loathed to head over to BlueSky until it becomes more equal as I assume from the masses leaving Twitter and the reasons suggested, that it will be about as fair minded as the SBT Politics thread. Is it possible to see only CCFC content on there?

I saw Weder Bremen announced last night they’re leaving X and moving to this platform. A lot of clubs will follow. x is a horrible place
Can see more and more 'names' moving. Even if you ignore the political nonsense and general behaviour of people the place is riddled with porn.

Not sure many businesses, especially ones that may have younger people following them, want to have to deal with constant porn accounts in their relies posting explicit content.

Yep, you only see stuff from people follow so outside of them retweeting something it's entirely your own curation. There's a handy starter pack where Cov fans who've joined are all listed so can be followed in one, so far so good

I never did politics on Twitter. Rarely anyway. It was always about music for me. When I did try and read something from someone outside that sphere, there were always tons of replies abusing the original poster. I've seen so much disgusting content on there that just appeared in my feed. On top of that all the bots and the incessant Temu adverts.

Every thread on Ukraine or Gaza I happened to see just turned into racist, antisemitic rants or pro-Russian propaganda.

For me it's not about BlueSky being politically "equal", it's about it being free from the abuse, bots, porn, adverts. Been able to discuss topics I enjoy like music and footy without having to constantly block people. At the moment because of who Twitter is owned by and what he has allowed to happen the vast majority of those on BlueSky probably are left leaning.

I joined Bluesky in Summer 2023 when you still needed an invite code to join. Still persisted with Twitter. The day Trump won the election was the final straw. Closed the account. Don't regret it. The British National Party created an account last week. Within hours word had spread and people were blocking them en masse. Someone said they closed their account. Not sure.

Twitter is now a Trump Propaganda tool and I think it will eventually merge with the Orange One's Truth Social. Not for me.

BlueSky really is a nicer space, unless you're the kind of person who loves the hatred or helps spread it.

It is the club. This is their official English channel. 37K followers. The official German language channel with 540K followers has posted the same statement. They're off. Good for them. A lot more will follow. The trickle will turn into a torrent when one of the big European or English teams follows suit.
I meant the Coventry one someone posted isn't real.

I wish mores teams and companies would follow suit with the few German teams who have jumped ship

Yeah, sorry. My mistake. I have followed them, but who knows. Someone somewhere or other posted a screenshot of them asking CCFC on Twitter if they were going to come over to BlueSky and they said they were thinking about it.

I think whether clubs etc do is if the scheduling tools support it. Would assume they do?

If it does, they just need to really add it in and then they can schedule and push the same out as they do on X / FB etc.

I don’t mind a bit of politics in twitter but at the moment every single issue mentioned has an amplified blue tick at the top of the replies saying something like “it’s the Jews fault controlling world order, don’t you see it now goyim. Should kill them all”

disgusting place

Tbh I'd just rather no political bias on my timeline at all. I dont want left leaning or right leaning, I simply dont want to see it as I get wound up, I'm well aware that my politics arent agreeable with most on here so I avoid the thread. I still want CCFC info, team news etc so I do need a platform of some description different to here and without the constant name-calling (from both sides) and point scoring. The porn and adverts are yet another unwelcome reason, but I equally dont want my timeline filled with not only pro or anti trump, who is the most racist who is the most woke or gammon or snowflake or any of the other playground insults.

I'll give BS a go and try not to get embroiled in more petty arguments, life is too short and I waste enough of it on her e:)

No thanks.

If history has taught us anything its that those who have a problem with free expression of opinion are never the good guys.

I'll stick with Twitter. It might be a cesspit, but at least its an open one
It's not the only the left Vs right thing that has made me change. More than happy for people to have their own opinions.

Bluesky allows you to focus on what you are interested in and doesn't force content your way.

It's not owned by a single person who can force an agenda. It's seemingly harder to create bot farms to fill comments.

There is no pay to promote posts feature so everyone has an equal voice.

But yeah Twitter has got ridiculously rightwing since Elon took over. No problem with people having that world view b ut I don't want to hear it constantly

This sums up that side for me:

I like the chaos of twitter some times but I’ve been seeing posts literally saying Hitler did nothing wrong and there’s tons of people in the replies posting how they are Nazi’s. It’s completely mental.

I can't really complain but every post has tits and weird product ads in the replies. There's just so much spammy shit it's hard to read replies to an actual thread.

I bet a massive chunk is just AI bots arguing.

This shit is just as bad and divisive imo, I dont want to see this either however many likes they received for it. Fed up of the England flag being associated as EDL too.

*edit - I ddnt mean your post btw, just the quote.

Well that's the point you'd only see that if you followed him or had share interests. Works both ways doesn't it?

Just looking at the fyp on twitter now its

Trump official
Advert x3
Lie
Porn bot
Homophobia
Crypto

in the first 15 posts

Titty bitcoins?

The thing is, businesses will still really have to use both as they have so much reach.

I only have an account to check tweets I get sent and only follow Cov and the Fantasy PL account on it. I'll check the first 10 posts on my homepage:

1 Musk tweet about trans people
2 "freakiest interactions of all time"
3 Mike Tyson info tweet
4 Musk tweet about video games
5 San Marino football tweet
6 Alex Jones tweeting Trump scaremongering about WW3
7 I'm a celeb clip
8 Musk tweeting about Trump
9 Musk tweeting a pic of himself titled "The Dogefather"
10 Alex Jones tweeting Trump talking about ending the Ukraine war.

Place is a shithole

People are getting barred from your new pub for making factually correct statements. Still each to his/her/she/he/it/its own.

Quite damning really

Absolutely.

Only people you personally agree with should be allowed on there. That is definitely the most mature, reasonable way to hold public discussions

Bluesky is already becoming a left wing echo chamber, with Twitter by proxy then on its way to become a right wing echo chamber. Both are shit holes, and I think I'll stay away from them with equal measure.

I notice from reports already Bluesky has become full of people offended by everything, and has become overwhelmed by people reporting other posts. They've had more requests than ever, and I'm not talking disgusting material which should correctly be banned, but essentially Reddit level emotionally-incontinent babies wanting to shut down conversations. As always, those that claim to be the compassionate and understanding ones are usually the biggest hypocrites.

What's the point in having a 'safe space' where your opinions won't be challenged by anyone? It just makes that line down the middle bigger and divides the planet more.

It’s not . Blue tick accounts ( which are usually the worst people in the world) are pushed to the top of replies and mentions so you are not seeing anything like Free Speech.

It’s like only seeing Grendel and Gimoc posts on every topic.

Left wing people can have blue tick accounts as well

I just find it incredible and saddening that for years people had no problem at all with people getting banned all over the place for posting things that the nerds in twitter HQ personally didn't like.

Then once it gets opened up so that ordinary people can voice their opinions, so called working class people want no part of it.

It is really, really disheartening the way some working class guys want their own people silenced for having a different opinion to them. The right to speak freely was something our ancestors had to fight for

To be fair X was well on its way to becoming a right wing echo chamber well before BlueSky came about

If you walked into a pub and the first words out of your mouth were clearly intended to offend people and start an argument you'd probably get asked to leave too :ROFLMAO:

How do you know what someone's intentions are?
