Bluesky is already becoming a left wing echo chamber, with Twitter by proxy then on its way to become a right wing echo chamber. Both are shit holes, and I think I'll stay away from them with equal measure.

I notice from reports already Bluesky has become full of people offended by everything, and has become overwhelmed by people reporting other posts. They've had more requests than ever, and I'm not talking disgusting material which should correctly be banned, but essentially Reddit level emotionally-incontinent babies wanting to shut down conversations. As always, those that claim to be the compassionate and understanding ones are usually the biggest hypocrites.

What's the point in having a 'safe space' where your opinions won't be challenged by anyone? It just makes that line down the middle bigger and divides the planet more.
It’s just dividing the internet into different political spheres. Just shut it all down and go outside

Honestly mate, the things you're saying on this thread are embarrassing

I'm sorry your embarrassed. Perhaps you should mute me if you're "offended"?

Or we just have an online platform where both left and right wing people can freely debate their ideas?

I agree, but there’s a difference between Right Wing debate and people promoting National Socialism

Strange that you only bring up the one side there. Presumably you're also concerned about people promoting the equally evil ideology of communism?

While you may disagree with the politics, you are not correct in calling BlueSky a shit hole. Not seen any racism, ableism, antisemitism, spam, adverts, porn, bots at all. You'll see that immediately on Twitter.

Can't confirm your whiny comment about people being "offended by everything" as in my music and CCFC sphere, all is calm.

Does anyone say anything remotely controversial at all on there?

It’s because it’s the one that I see on my X feed the most.

id rather see neither to be honest and just see Coventry city news and funny cat videos

Then you just set the feed to "people I follow" and unfollow anyone posting things you're not interested in

I'm not on there for any politics or to engage with other peoples world view. I just want to follow what I'm interested in and not have to wade though bots and casual racism. I don't want snuff and gore videos to auto play at me that are labelled up as sports clips (actually happened last week)

Fuck the gritty world, I am all too aware of how shit reality is... would be nice not to have it rammed down your throat by edgelords 24/7

No thanks.

If twitter does start to die, I'll just sack it all off.

Not embarrassed or offended, just disappointed that you seem to be someone who has been taken in by some of the toxic views spouted by certain public figures and are now parroting the same divisive dog whistles and talking points.

What have I been taken in by exactly?

I'm for all people, left and right, to be allowed to freely express their views on a public forum.

I can't believe that in the 21st century that the freedom to express a personal opinion is now considered controversial

I obviously respect your opinion.

What I would say is the only way you can change reality is to be aware of how shit it is

No thanks.

If history has taught us anything its that those who have a problem with free expression of opinion are never the good guys.

I'll stick with Twitter. It might be a cesspit, but at least its an open one
Bore off you fucking idiot. Just using my freedom of expression. I don’t want to read narrow minded right wing views so I’ve come off Twitter

It is really, really disheartening the way some working class guys want their own people silenced for having a different opinion to them. The right to speak freely was something our ancestors had to fight for

Don't be a twat. I don't know what your ancestors fought for, but I spoke to my grandfather about the war at length before he died, and he never said it was so neo-nazi wannabes could spew disgusting rhetoric on some shit hole website.

Seems to have been caused by an increase in scams, bots, spam and harmful content, rather than "lefties" being sensitive.

Bluesky is so full of liberals that they cant cope with the amount of harmful reporting they get. It seems echo chambers of like minded people still have issues which means its not the site but perhaps the users. All theses alternatives never last.

Yeah you stick to interacting with only people you agree with. That is definitely the most mature approach

I can guarantee he didn't fight Nazi's so that dissenting voices would be silenced

Why would I ignore it when I could go to BlueSky and not see it at all?

Because someone will take "offence" to something you say and will get you banned

I like the chaos of twitter some times but I’ve been seeing posts literally saying Hitler did nothing wrong and there’s tons of people in the replies posting how they are Nazi’s. It’s completely mental.

I was on a coach yesterday and this guy got on. It does feel as though they’re emboldened recently and almost proud of it.

(not England btw… Byron Bay in Aus and he was an Aus local)

Haha, it is amusing how you try and paint racism (and a bunch of other isms) as "gritty" or "dissenting voices".
