Not sure if previously mentioned…had a quality pre season and looking at going out on loan. 20 years old

Whilst I agree about the underwhelming part (based on zero knowledge whatsoever!), Elliot Anderson, currently aged 21 was at Bristol Rovers two years ago and has just been sold for around £30m (different speculation of the fees). They loved Anderson whilst he was at Rovers.
Just playing devil's advocate.........

Can see this happening. Delaney link. Played well for Villa pre season. Can cover in midfield and in defence.
Got the message from a mate who works at Villa.. he mentioned Delaney so might have some legs

Why should we give someone else's player experience?

Sign our own player, we've got nearly 2 weeks left of the transfer window, plenty of time to bring 1 or 2 in.

If he's any good I can't comment, but dont base poor form for someone else that he'll automatically be rubbish for us. Harry Kane on loan was awful as an example. Ayari last season far too raw for us, didnt get many plaudits at Blackburn but very young and clearly something there. Brighton do their homework and paid £6m, he must have trained on as he was in their first team squad (got a couple of minutes and had a goal disallowed). Barry at Stockport was supposedly poor in his previous loan before them. I'm sure there are countless other examples and if Robins sees something in him I'd trust him. He did ok with loans on the likes of Matty James, Liam Walsh, Callum Doyle, Ian Maatsen etc who were all young and those who didnt even always look outstanding like Vik, he saw enough to get him back. Vik, Sheafo and O'hare all signed after positive loan periods, so I'd be inclined to give him a chance.

Try before you buy? Look how it worked out with Vik, Sheaf, COH. Mainstays of the team for a couple of years after their loans. One who's sale has pretty much changed the clubs fortunes for the last 2 seasons.

I'm not saying don't buy, but the loan market can work really well in a club like ours favour.

Yes, ideally. But if money has run out and Vik/Hamer are not on the move then a loan may be the only option
