i have heard a few rumours about him coming here on loan from Sunderland.

I think he has just signed a new year contract with Sunderland. It would seem silly for them to give him a new Contract and loan him out unless he is not going to fit into their 25!

Doubt they would give a 33 year old a new contract then send him out on loan, decent player though.

i doubt it too, however he has chance to prove his worth if he isn't playing then a short period loan would keep him match fit!!
