Bit odd. Don’t see Allen as a holding CM, especially against Middlesbrough. He’s played his best football for us further up the field.

Sheaf picked up a slight knock?

Allen in for Sheaf ????? 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Dodnt see that one coming, could be a disaster, could be a masterstroke!
I thought Sheaf would be more useful against a typical Warnock side.
Also, its time for Waghorn to break his duck, with Godden and Walker available he has to start to produce.

Bit surprised Sheaf not in as offers height,/physicality versus e.g.Jamie Allen. In MR we trust, and all that!

Our midfield of Hamer, Allen and O'Hare are only the same height combined as Matt Crooks. Perhaps we are going for the Iniesta ,Xavi, Messi approach😂

Writing must be on the wall for Shipley now surely, even with Kelly, Eccles and Bright not available, he still cant make the match day squad, and with a couple of the u23 not too far away, it's looking ominous for the lad.

Not sure about Sheaf dropping out at all tbh. Strong looking bench though, we're finally starting to look like a proper Championship squad.

The notion Warnock and his football is from another era is not really valid. He’s a manager that continually has adapted methods to suit

Still remember him walking on to the pitch when the ball was in-play to instruct his defenders playing us at the Ricoh. Think it was against Palace.

They look to have a number of big units. If we have the ball a lot, no problem. Give them a lot of set pieces and I'm less confident. Take a draw now (especially having seen our lot run out, size wise😱)

Sheaf dropping out is a bit of a shock. Maybe MR want Allen's energy in pressuring Boro over Sheaf's protection and passing range. Think this may show we're going to press a lot and get the ball forward quickly.

Fair play to Jamie Allen though, done exactly what you want from a fringe player that are told they can move on by putting extra effort in and forcing their way into the squad.

In the warm ups Ikpeazu looks so not agile (I'll own it when he scores an overhead kick)
