Yes but say more. What exactly does that mean. Rental deal at the Ricoh? As much as I can’t be arsed to cast my mind back but I believe Wasps won’t do that unless CCFC sign something agreeing to indemnify them of future losses? Is it just back in Coventry at all costs?Play in Cov would be a start.

Okay so if we are back at the Ricoh on a 10 year deal. Let’s assume that’s the same cost as what it costs us now and somehow they negotiate a relegation rental reduction. Would you/grendel be happy then if everything else continued?
Of course what I’m getting at is I don’t think some people will be happy until we get a sugar daddy

Makes sense - so either get a long term deal at the Ricoh, or a shorter term deal if a stadium was going to be built? If we’re under new owners I’d see no reason we couldn’t get a decent deal, but as I’ve always said if we need a ground for financial reasons I’d support that too. Just play in Cov while you build it.
If we got 20,000 a game (ambitious but not impossible) then some very rough maths means that’s around £6m a year in revenue. Assuming we ended up paying £1.5m a year for a rental deal for match day access again (is this realistic?) then that might give us a £4m income. As for expectations, TBH I’m happy on the current model plus a bit for increased crowds. I don’t want to see us spending tens of millions, £5/6m a year investment in young up and coming players with the odd exciting loan from above and the odd bit of experience thrown in.
So would you be happy...You can believe what you like but I have it pretty good authority that a deal was struck in the end and someone walked away at the least minute and even Big Dave lost his Sisu veneer for a brief moment

Add in sponsorship and tv money...call that another £6m, that gives us maybe £10m a year to run the club if going to break even.
Do you think that’s doable investing the money you say, without supplementing with a sugar daddy? Genuine question because my assumptions are probably riddled with inaccuracies, just trying to get a feel for what would even be manageable
If you could guarantee me we'd yo-yo straight back up i wouldn't even be that bothered about going down. Trouble is I feel like we got promoted against the odds, not sure it would happen again, well not soon anyway. I simply cannot do another 10 years or whatever it was below Championship level.Gut says probably not, but I’m not football finance expert. It does seem this division is more for the rich boys toys, But I think if we can get to the stage where we can afford £15m wage Bill and say £5m investment each year and not be bleeding money, then year we can hover around lower mid table and occasionally push for higher. Like a Barnsley or Luton.
Big if though, getting more money into the club has to be step one. What I’ve always wanted whoever the owners are is a bit of transparency about the plan. If there’s a plan to keep us competitive and stable then great, if the best we can do is L1 yo-yo club then fine, but set expectations. I think most would accept if the owners said “it’s got to run on its own and the best it can do is X”.

That's why I struggle to remember exactly how long it was without checking. I do remember the vast majority of it was fucking depressing though.A lot of that time is kind of a blur to me, lots of forgettable or dreadful seasons then the flurry up in the last 3.

I thought we were doing well when we abandoned 'the box' but sadly he seems to think that is the way to go again despite all evidence to the contrary.Going down would be as needless as it would be a probable horror show for us on and off the pitch. Hopefully Robins stumbles on the right formula or Norwich give us a 3 goal head start
Same. I'm trying not to be dramatic but I think it would be pretty disastrous.Going down would be shite. Don't see us coming back up again for a while if we do.

Naive comes from the top so does their mentality installed,no problem having players not as good as some other teams but we should be making up with fight & hard workMcFadzean said at the start of the season that experience was what the team needed most from the transfer window. It was never addressed. Instead we spent a (relative) fortune on young players with very little experience at this level. It’s no surprise we seem so naive at times.
I’m just confused to be honest as to what it is that you want..it feels like you want owners with deep pockets who are willing to throw millions and millions of pounds (more) per year at the club with little to no hope of getting it back. I mean that’s what you’re saying isn’t it, when you say “fund the playing side beyond generated revenue”? Usually takes a while for you to actually answer questions so a yes or no will do just fine here. Not really no. Also your use of a sugar daddy is a strange way to view clubs like Luton Millwall Barnsley
You almost seem to revel in the fact we have busted flush owners who can’t find any way to fund the playing side beyond generated revenue which in itself isn’t enough to survive
