I like to sit behind the goal too but my favourite game at the Ricoh was where that wasn't a choice, I think if it comes down to which is more important a good atmosphere or being behind the goal then I think the majority prefer the better atmosphere. If somepeople don't get exactly what they want but it's in the best interests of ccfc thats fine by me (and I say that as someone who wouldn't be getting what he wanted) But honestly there is no reason you can't do a good job of accommodating most people using 2 stands and some blocking off. Takes a little bit of thought before tickets go on sale thats all.

I just want to share with you what happened at The Emirates when we got stuffed. I took my six year old to the game with his gooner grandad. He was stood on his seat to get a better view and the faithful started sing Robin Van Persie thinks that you're shit! Robin Van Persie thinks that you're shit! Jacob turns around and said
'Daddy'
'Yes son'
'Do we really think that Van Persie is a ship'?
''Yes Jacob'
'How'?
'Well you know they are called the Gunners'?
'Yes Daddy'
'Well some ships have guns on them don't they'?

'So that's why we think that Robin Van Persie is a ship'
'Oh'
Yes, I thought, I got away with that one. When we got home that night he went to bed and when he got up in the morning his mum said
'Did you have a nice time'?

I'm not really sure you can solve that, you can hear the away fans singing from anywhere in the ground, so as a parent you have to decide if a football game is where you want to take your kids, I was making the point that fixing the atmosphere doesn't mean you can't have a kids area, In fact if it's what the parents wanted you could have the kids area away from the main group of fans. your story is funny though thanks for sharing.

I know what you mean, it is all well and good people saying "you should expect it taking your kids to the games" but at the Ricoh there was a fella by the JSB section who used to not be happy unless he has stood up and crammed as many swear words into a sentence as he could. Personally doesn't bother me, but not the sort of thing I want my 4 year old hearing.
