Not well no, but I have a relative who does and has worked for him. As I said he is a decent bloke and has no reason to exaggerate a tale and communication with ccfc hasn't been easy.
So he's told an ex employee all about it? I know somebody who worked for him too. They wouldn't say the same and neither would any of their colleagues.

Thanks Rupert
Do you know anymore.
As in how they were approached and by who and why they were the only party not prepared to engage in peace talks?

That's funny. I know wasps have offered CCFC a 10 year deal and it's a take it or leave it offer. Still Rupert has a great track record so I'm sure he is In The Know.

Asked you quite a few times how you know that.
Yet you always ignore my question

Just been chatting too a person who is good friends of a friend of Mr Millerchip, Cov rugby 100% want to ground share otherwise the future for Cov looks as bleak as ours, the guy I was chatting with has also pulled out from buying at the retirement village and is staying put due to the football club potentialy moving.
From what he was saying the biggest issue with the move appears to be parking

So does this mean that Mr. Millerchip does not want to put obstacles in CCFC and CRFC's way...?

That doesn't sound right. Parking isn't really an issue I would have thought. Loads of car parks in town and town is just a few mins walk from the Butts.

Traffic volume and local objection surely are much higher on the agenda than parking.

Yeah but NCP and CCC would be the benfactors in that case.

I personally agree Ottis, plenty of parking close by, but this is what I was told, obviously it may or may not be the case, I indicated the idea of a ground share looked extremely unlikely, but he indicated quite the opposite.
So does this mean that Mr. Millerchip does not want to put obstacles in CCFC and CRFC's way...?

He said The ground share seems to be the only option to make Cov RFC a viable operation, he wants a successful Rugby club and needs us to make it possible, so allegedly no obstacles from Millerchip, the council however?

Well yep, if he is all for the Butts development and a ground share etc. why on earth would he be urging us to speak to Wasps?

Surely he wouldn't give two hoots.

As with most things revolving around the City, it all becomes muddied and confusing.

Also ccc hold the freehold again so anything has to go through them. They have already blocked it to an extent so I would of thought this is the biggest hurdle not parking.

If there really is the will and it is feasible I really cannot see CCC just blocking it. There would have to be very valid reasons (cue Grendel).

Think Millerchip's comments need to be clarified.

If the council blocked it and there was no valid reason whatsoever, then every City fan should bombard the council.

Only reasons I can see of veto is of local resident opposition (including the retirement village) and traffic (not parking)

And then the other side of the coin is the feasibility. Personally I just cannot see a 25,000 seater stadium ever fitting in there at all. And then there is Cov rugby not wanting too large a stadium.

Also says ccc do agree and say yes then who pays for it? How long would it take?

I know a long shot but what if wasps go bust in 6 years time and the Ricoh becomes available?

Like you say 25k seater stadium would never fit so perhaps 15k max? Traffic and planning?

So whilst it's great in theory but it reality it's merely a dream.

Yes I agree.

But you can't say the Butts won't happen though, because that makes you a Wasps and Ricoh lover. Doesn't matter how unrealistic the proposition is. ;)

Reading what Sharp said, it was 15K with other development to produce a income stream or 25K and no income and BTW 25K is too big.
Does it add up, I don't think so. Also current planning is for a 13K stadium, that means a segregated crowd of 12K tops.

Pretty sure FL rules are 10% minimum allocation for away fans. That would mean 11.5k for home fans if we're lucky. Already not fit for purpose.

Nope, that's not fit for purpose, but apparently moving to a non league ground miles away with temporary stands with hardly any meaningful capacity at all available, is!

Yes let's keep saying have talks with wasps when they have refused to negotiate and say it's "deal or no deal"

Let's stick our heads in the sand and pretend it's going to get better.

Be honest, if the rents a million a year you'd be demanding they sign.

It is absolutely pointless even talking to you any more. Even when someone states their case to refute what you have said about them and do so honestly and sincerely you still continue on the same track.

Unfortunately, and I hate to say it, you are a liar.

Really? I. What way am I liar? You have a constant assertion that we can negotiate. Please explain to me how when the side are negotiating with has actually said no do not even knock on the door?

You say the Ricoh is the only option. Again please explain how that option even exists when the owners have said all talks are off?

Wasps have walked away from negotiations at the moment. As a club are we supposed to just do nothing and hope for a change of stance from Wasps and CCC or wait till SISU wise up with the legal action? The answer is obviously no, we have to now be taking progressive steps to secure the future of the club.

The club simply now have to get serious and press on with real plans to develop the Butts or to build a new stadium, to not do so would be negligent because as it stands there is no other option.

But your other option of either develop the butts or a new stadium aren't options in my eyes. Both require money and time and co operation and lots of it. And we have none of this.

So please explain and convince me butts or a new stadium is a realistic option?

You simply do not listen!

I have said so many times now, I encourage talks. Everyone should encourage talks. Wasps may give us nothing, but we have to plead our case.

I haven't said the Ricoh is the only option. Read my posts. I have said that right now, at this moment in time, we only have the Ricoh or a groundshare. That is it.

You are a liar because I tell you my stance and you just ignore it and tell me I am saying and thinking and believing something different to the actual truth.

You tell me and everyone else on here that I believe something I do not believe.

You say I will believe any bullshit Wasps tell me. Untrue.

You say I will send over backwards and take any crumbs Wasps will throw my way. Untrue.

You say I only want to stay at the Ricoh. Untrue.

Do you want me to carry on?

Fine for you to have a perception of someone, but if they then honestly and sincerely correct you on that perception then why would you continue with the untruths.

You sit down as a club and talk and plead your case. Probably will come to nothing, but you don't refuse to talk.

All I want to happen is for all sides to sit down and talk and try and thrash out a solution.

I have said so I don't know how many times now, but you keep reading that and totally misreading it by saying I would accept anything Wasps offer. Untrue.
As CCFC said, Wasps have stopped all negotiations FOR NOW!

Could be done, but we'd probably need new owners which would help a lot so on that basis seems unlikely at the moment.

Likeliest scenario is we are non league or not existing in 10 years time.

I love how a large section of this forum has turned into RFC's love children and all of a sudden believe TF and think that development of the BPA or a sight on the outskirts of Coventry is ever going to happen with these joker's running the club. Neither are an option as long as SISU are here, the only option currently is the Ricoh. It's as simple as that. So one of two things have to happen. Either SISU need to do what the majority of fans want and drop the legals so we can start communicating with those we need to or they need to do one so someone serious about running the club can come in and do the job.

Ricoh currently is not an option either, the deal is off the table as it stands.
