It was, but the defeat was solely down to Collins.
It was 10 vs 10 with minutes to go, and we could even of snatched it until that fucking clown pressed self destruct.

Binks could’ve, should’ve done better with the goal line clearance but Collins was on a kamikaze mission.

Collins is totally shot mentally and at this point the club are failing in their duty of care to get him out of the firing line.

Played well for 80 minutes, crowd behind him, dealt with everything then something switched.

Punched a ball from under the bar unchallenged which he should have caught..
Same again moments later albeit there was a challenge but he still should have claimed the ball and then within minutes the mistake for their goal.

Looked crestfallen when the players came to applaud the fans and kept to the edge of the group.
It's really not a good situation for anyone.

I posted on here before the game, he looked terrified walking out on that pitch.

It’s not fair on him to keep playing him

Collins had been having a decent game to that point, but that decision is indefensible.
Just stay on your line and let the defenders deal with it.

If you come out that far, you need to deal with the threat one way or the other. He did neither and left his goal open. Criminal.

Binks definitely should’ve done better but the point is that he shouldn’t have been in that situation.

Atleast Binks is running backwards towards goal so its easy to see why tired legs can let him down
The entire scenario doesnt happen of collins stays on his line and let's his defender deal with it , he did exactly the same to Liam a couple.weeks back .. stay on your line

Agreed. You just wouldn’t have thought Kitching and Collins have played together for years before joining us…

As we've said.
Even other teams fans are fully aware of his levels.

If only that Boro fan was more focused on their own team. They picked up 1 point against teams with nothing to play for.

I’ve been banging on about it for a while now, in the worst case scenario, we always needed to beat Boro on the last day in most permutations.

Blackburn and Millwall play Sheff U and Burnley respectively, I’m reasonably confident a draw v Boro sees us through.

Yeah I agree, wouldn't want to rely on other results by drawing at home, but it will most likely have been enough at 14:30 Saturday.

Exactly. If Leeds win convincingly v Bristol, a draw v Boro may see us overtake them and any teams like Blackburn/Millwall that could overtake us on GD may also finish above them. Then we finish 6th anyway.

We didn’t do ourselves a favour in the recent away games which is massively disappointing. It just means that Boro game needs to be a win.

I've been banging the drum for months

Hes a fucking calamitous c**t and I genuinely cannot believe Lampard persists with him

Not too sure there’s a way back for him.

Take away any views on his ability, mentally he has to be in a bad place. Unless he has zero self awareness he’ll know he’s messed up again.

Confidence will be shot and I’m not sure playing in front of a sell out crowd in a massively high pressured games is ideal.

Equally, no idea what the answer is. I don’t think Wilson is the confidence person he’s made out to be, he’s happy to be a second choice for a reason.

Literally said I shouldn't have said it a few posts up if you want to open your eyes, we all say things in the heat of the moment

You on the other hand have decided to have a bitch fit about the comment hours later

It’s just hearsay on the coach up to the game from randomer. They supposedly had tenuous links to Wilson and it was said that he expected to play this week.

Assuming that’s true, it poses the following questions:
- why did Lampard change his mind? and
- what did he see to not trust Wilson in goal?

Either way, it’s clear that neither Collins and Wilson is highly rated and therefore, to address the long term question at GK, we need a GK to challenge and/or replace Dovin next season.

I genuinely thought the people saying Dovin getting injured would be the end to our playoff homes were loopy/scaremongering… they weren’t despite some of the personal and somewhat nasty criticisms of him.
