The warning signs were there a few mins before the howler. A couple of crosses came in that most other keepers would have caught but he punched them out and put us back into danger. I could feel it coming.

Same.
I don't understand why his confidence went when he played so well but it smacks of something far more deep rooted to me and he needs dropping and supporting to get through whatever it is

He got great support yesterday and at Albion, (I wasn't at Plymouth so don't know about there).

But football supporters wanting a player costing them points dropped isn't really a pile on.
As someone who suffers from anxiety, depression and ptsd I can see that Brad is shot to bits you can see it in his face.He didn’t look happy even after making a couple of decent saves.Maybe not so much a pile on but the personal abuse is out of order in my opinion.Someone with mental health issues isn’t a clown,a c** t or a twat. And people wonder why people with issues don’t speak up.This subject is too close to me I’ll say no more.

Have you ever seen a keeper in such a crisis before at CCFC? Im not a great fan of Wilson but he is a solid No2 and if he’s fit needs to play last game. Collins is shot and the only outcome is for him to be loaned out next season if any takers. Frank Lampard you have literally dropped the ball by continuing with Brad Collins.

It’s clear he’s done and needs taking out of the team for everybody’s sake.

It’s to the point now that Lampard is to blame for me. He can’t keep selecting him. If he plays against Boro he’ll inevitably cost us a playoff place and FL should have to deal with some difficult questions.

I don’t particularly rate Wilson but he has to start now.

Wasn’t a confidence thing
He came out for the ball and once coming he couldn’t stop himself
Should have been saved by binks but it wasnt

I wouldn't be surprised to see that popping up time and again on the net as one of the 100 worst goalkeeping gaffes. Kitchin must be fed up of being clattered from behind.

What was telling yesterday is when the players came over after the final whistle. Collins stayed back and was talking to Wilson appearing to trying to explain the mistake. None of the other players went over to him and Lampard ignored him.

Its clear that Collins head has gone and he is loosing it when you see his reactions after his mistakes.
whether Wilson is fully fit or not Collins needs to be taken out of the spotlight for his own benefit as well as the team

To me it was,a confidence thing because for 80 minutes he was fine then he started to shows signs that he wasn't, (the two punches from under his bar), and then he made a poor decision that lead to the goal.

It is though Pete. He is low on confidence and is overcompensating by coming for the ball there.
His decision making is all over the place as a result of trying to correct previous errors.
We saw it with Simon Moore too a couple of years back.
Goalkeeping is as much in the mind as anything else. It takes real mental toughness to forget about errors and not try to overcompensate for them.

That doesn’t reflect well on the team or Lampard at all.If Brad had saved a last minute pen and won the game, the players and Frank would have been jumping all over him.Its a team game,he needs the right support not ignoring.

It looks to me like Brad suffers from anxiety. As a sportsman he won’t be allowed to use Beta-Blockers etc. This is on Frank and the his team as much as on Brad himself.Do the right thing and take him out the firing line for his own good. This pile on and the personal abuse directed at Brad,is a f***ing disgrace from so called supporters.Give the lad a break.

Ah yes. I remember when my anxiety was diagnosed from 100 yards.

He played like a confident player yesterday. Can people stop making up medical diagnoses based on fuck all?

Definitely an anxiety issue.Hes got into his own head, doubting himself even though he’s played pretty well and made decent saves. So he’s made a rash decision and cost us the game.Ben has to play against Boro as it’s a high stakes game and you can guarantee that Brad will get into his own head and start doubting himself at some point.

Surely if he was anxious, he’d be more cautious and stay on his line, exactly where he would have saved that shot.
The bloke is just fucking useless nothing else

If anything I wonder if his good performance up to them gave him too much confidence that made him think he could come for it. Or maybe he saw a cloud that reminded him of his mother’s breast. I’m not a fucking psychologist.

Surely if he’s so anxious, the performance director would have some input to the manager about it, none of it makes sense.
WTF is going on behind the scenes, the obvious choice is drop Collins and play Wilson

All I’m saying is from my own experience is everything is fine until you start doubting yourself and making irrational scenarios up in your head, some kind of irrational response will happen. You should know that? You clearly know f**k all.

Frank needs to step away from the “Chelsea Old Pals Act” with Collins and replace him from now on.
Wilson is a great number 2 and should be nailed on for Middlesboro and the play-offs should we make it.
Super Ben Wilson in goal - come on!

Nothing wrong with feeling for him. I’ve been diagnosed myself. But GAD isn’t the same as being nervous in a big game or because your job is on the line.
Fair enough mate.I probably came across as a know all which wasn’t my intention as i said it’s a little to close to my heart. No harm done 🩵

Perhaps this is all part of the master plan. Get Wilson fired up having to watch this disaster class from the bench, then put him out there for 4 straight clean sheets up to the Prem 😎

as soon as I'm done with my bike ride that's my plan. Plural. Reckon @peteCCFC will tell me to suck it up and have one beforehand.
I smoke 2 joints in the morning, I smoke 2 joints at night, I smoke 2 joints in the afternoon, it makes me feel alright.
I smoke 2 joints in time of peace and 2 in time of war. I smoke 2 joints before I smoke 2 joints, and then I smoke 2 more.

2 joints.

Pete.

I'd pick Wilson every day of the week, so I get why people are calling Lampard for picking Collins, but if I take the emotion out of it then the alternatives to Collins are kid who hasn't ever played at this level, or a guy that hasn't played for 6 months. Last few games of the season, either of those two would be a massive risk too. I'd probably bring back Michael Quirke for a game tbh.

It's such a shame for all involved (suporters including). We had two goalkeepers on the pitch who were going through their own emotional challenges. And for 88 minutes it looked like we were going to get the "against the odds Hollywood ending, which I believed like most people, up to that point his performance deserved. Based on your experience, and I wish you all the best with your own personal challenges. How does the club make him whole again. That must be one hell of a dark place to be in. Thanks again for enlighten us on a issue we sometimes fail to consider.

I mean, there is a chance, although I’m willing to be corrected on this, that Brad Collins is just not very good at being a goalkeeper.

Him Thomas and Kitching all suffer from rushes of blood to the head in various ways and regularities. Must be something in the water at Barnsley. And Collins was one of those blokes with a 5l bottle constantly at his side.
