Poor kids fancy only seeing successful teams play on the teeeveee.
They will all grow up not knowing sporting despair. Will ruin them I say .
Well, I would say that many sports fans over here know about sporting despair. In the major sports, (american) football and baseball especially, some teams can straight suck for a few years, then have a worst-to-first type season because of draft pick compensations and such (Chicago Cubs are notoriously bad, and their fans are just 'unlucky'). Big difference between American sports and the rest of the world is non-relegation, the major leagues NFL, MLB, etc. (And MLS), are all closed-shop where even a dreadful team knows they will have a chance at the title the next season.
Oh, and another huge difference is that major sports teams owners willfully move teams or threaten too unless billion dollar stadiums are built by taxpayers. Maybe not that different...
