Not seen the highlights yet, thought it was Davies initially but if it was Thomas then change Davies 5 to a 6 and Thomas to a 5.

Still, to have 10 chances against a poor Bradford isn't a great feat. And They, like you say, had 3 shots on target. And had the ball in the net 3 times. That's poor defending in any team in any league. I'd expect better on a Sunday morning at the memorial park tbf

I get a light brown/blonde haired player (who played the entire night on the right wing) confused with a light brown/blonde haired player (who played left sided CH). Without the use of a replay, in quick time our right winger is in the position on the field that Davies should be. In quick time, without a replay, a blondish player on the left corner of the 6 yard box slices the ball. My initial thought is 'that must be our right winger out of position'.

Can't help but feel there's a lot of over rated ratings on here because of a scoreline that, quite clearly, flattered us.
Don't think any player (maybe JCH aside) from last night that deserves more than a 7. Especially from a defending point of view. I'm happy we scored 4 and got the win but Bradford were poor. And we still allowed them to put the ball in the net 3 times with ease. Every clearance from defence was half cleared or scuffed or sliced. It was comical at times.
Their 1st goal, any one of 3 unmarked players lining up along the 6 yard box could of headed that home.
2nd goal, that headed clearance from Kelly summed up how badly our defence had been at clearing our lines all night.
And goal 3. Why did their player feel the need to hand ball it. If he'd of just left it, that sliced clearance from Davies was probably on its way into the back of the net on its own accord.
To get carried away after putting 4 past a struggling team who put 3 past us with our help is madness.
I'm happy we got the win but we looked dreadful so 6s all around except 7 for JCH and Kelly and Davies both 5s.

Davies 6 - some silly free kicks given away

Brown 7 - clearly getting fitter but not so good late on
Sterling 7 - improving, nearly scored and superb run and cross nearly leading to a goal early in the second
Doyle 7 - some poor free kicks but otherwise good
Bayliss 8 - playing a more disciplined game but so comfortable on the ball, goal Notts County esque
Thomas 7 - his dribbling and ball control is superb, just needs that end product but he's so important to us
Hiwula 8 - worked hard but buried a brilliant breakaway goal
JCH 8 - doing a great job leading the line, irreplaceable at the minute imo
Chaplin 7 - brilliant goal and starting to work with JCH

Kelly 7 - won numerous second balls and calmed us
Jones 7 - so exciting to see him back
Shipley 7 - necessary solidity

Sorry about the delay in responding. I was just asking if people, many of whom had pointed it out previously, felt that he had stopped falling over/diving as much as he had been doing. Of course, if he wins free-kicks I'd be happy, but more often than not he wasn't (past tense). From what I've read on here (as I said, I'm an irregular attender, so therefore in some minds should not be allowed an opinion.....), there haven't been many comments recently about it, and he is causing opposition defences more problems in the right ways. Also, as I pointed out, he is playing a really important role defensively at opposition corners.

Thought Baylis was not effective first half. Looked completely out of touch and tired. Improved after half time with well taken goal. Was his first forward movement when he scored.
Hiwalu was disappointing. Good goal but keeper should have saved it.

Great 4 wins on the bounce and a happy Skyblue but Bradford were poor, so let's not get carried away.
Let's beat Donny and maybe start dreaming.

I wrote that about Baylis in match thread. Just looked uninterested. I appreciate nicks comments about sitting back but just didn’t seem with it imo

Burge - 7. Did the basics well enough. Thought he may have done better with the second goal though as he seemed to move past the flight of the ball.
Sterling - 7. Got up and down the line well enough, looks quite confident in men's football now.
Davies - 8. Usual no nonsense performance that you need. A passionate player who seems to give his all. Decent with the ball at feet playing short or long.
Hyam- 7. Another very dependable player. Think we're lucky with the three centre backs we've got at the moment and bone of them seem too disheartened when out of the team.
Brown - 7. Played well enough, battled well and managed a few bursts forward too.
Doyle - 6. Broke up play and seems to get in those positions well. Think the game bypassed both him and Bayliss a bit through no fault of their own, not much of our play Went through the middle of the park.
Bayliss -7. As above but scored a good goal to boost his score.
Thomas -6. Full of running and often tracked back but too eager to close his man down sometimes and was side stepped a few times when he needs to ease off slightly as he gets to he player. Something for him to work on but his work ethic is good.
Hiwula - 7. Made some good runs with the ball and scored a very good goal too.
Chaplin -7. Looked lively but couple of times a bit too far away from JCH while we weren't much in the game 1st half after the second goal. Always want a the ball and a superb free kick.
JCH - 7. Always offering a physical presence and battling away. Good movement for the two headed efforts 1st half but really should've scored another in the second.

As has been pointed out these are high marks - numerically our second best permanence after Barnsley at home. When you tot up the scores above nobody gets a bad mark, but the "dud of the week" for the record is shared between Doyle & Thomas, but they both had good ratings.
MotM: JCH with an average of 7.9 (generous considering his two misses).
Davies and success go hand in hand : He has now been in the top two for the last four matches.
Hiwula Rising: Again as commented elsewhere the rating for previously much criticized new players continues to rise. Hiwula averaged 5.4 for his first three games, when he played up front. He averages 6.9 for the last three playing on the flank. Shipley could never have scored that goal, although it had a Shipley-esque deflection

It was actually a pretty poor finish from Hiwula, straight at the keeper and got lucky that it went under him and took a deflection that put it in the corner. But pleased for him and thought he played well on the left even without the goal.

I thought Biamou's injury could be a blessing in disguise at the time. It forced Robins hand into playing JCH to lead the line. I think hes been excellent a few times since hes been back in the team... Even though he missed two sitters today!

We've gone from they're all terrible signings and Robins' clock is ticking, to 'can we now get promoted this season?'

Yes, but now we are playing a settled team and that has given the new players the time needed to settle in and understand how MR wants the team to play. Not everyone blamed the players, many of the criticisms were about the amount of players we used in the first few games IIRC.

Yer it was straight at the keeper but it was hard and low and luckily snuck in the corner. I think because he had to run half the pitch with defenders chasing him probably made for the poor direction but it went in.

I think he ran 3/4 of the pitch - he starts off back near the penalty area then loops round. He deserved his luck. Even so a jink to the right and he'd have had a open goal.

I liked the way that on several occasions Brown resisted the temptation to hoof the ball into touch, even though he was under pressure and tight to the line, and tried and succeeded in playing the ball out to a supporting player. I think he is also improving week by week. Needs to not dive into tackles in the box however.

Sometimes the best way to finish those is closer to the keeper, harder for them to get down to them , try and place it out wide and you give the keepe more chance to get across to it
