Old Sky Blue 58 , I think your on to something here. It's a brilliant idea and hopefully we can get the Sky Blue Trust on board .The immediate issue is the Academy isn't it?.
The people we need to influence are (in no particular order) CCFC, SISU, CCC Wasps, CSF
Instead of looking at other clubs attendances what about focussing (as far as keeping the academy goes) on getting people to the home Academy games. If say the U18's were to get a crowd of 1000 plus doesn't that make a statement to those above about the strength of feeling the fans have about our academy? It would not be hard to organise, it would not cost to attend, it would be for the benefit of CCFC, and it would cause disruption in a positive way at the Higgs centre simply because of the volume of people. Can chant, make as much noise as you want, direct it at whoever or all sides, Easy for the local media to cover and something that the club itself could promote
No much prefer supporting our cov rugby, leafletting wasps games, boycotting wasps , and generally anybody who cares about the club getting a backbone, not disrupting kids football matches.Old Sky Blue 58 , I think your on to something here. My view is it's an irrelevance that a PR statement will make a vague reference to when the reality is the organisation actually wants to remove the club regardless.
Your constant attempts to avert any protests aimed at wasps have been noted and certainly not just from me.
Make a thread asking for strategy against sisu and tactics to make them stop legal action. I promise I will not divert it.

Sorry Shelby 76 , I think you misunderstood I'm not talking about disrupting the football at the Academy I'm saying we should support the Academy . ie , get as many people as we can to watch the game's and support them on Saturday mornings .No much prefer supporting our cov rugby, leafletting wasps games, boycotting wasps , and generally anybody who cares about the club getting a backbone, not disrupting kids football matches.
I know that's what you meant mate, I was just saying kids playing would be overawed by it all and I can imagine other academies moaning about it, then on the other hand they could love it..Sorry Shelby 76 , I think you misunderstood I'm not talking about disrupting the football at the Academy I'm saying we should support the Academy . ie , get as many people as we can to watch the game's and support them on Saturday mornings .

And a friend of a friend told me wasps have a pr firm that have infiltrated this site, and turning any meaningful thread into bollox by chatting shit and diverting conversation from the real issues. Guess it's pretty obvious to everyone, pissing me off.

Tend to agree. The nature of the beast is that is a tangled mess and unlike the likes of Blackpool there is no one clear enemy.some wan to protest at wasps, some at sisu, some at all
We will never come to a shared agreement on this one.
Exactly, and that's the saddest part, started a thread on it the other day, there is real division and animosityTend to agree. The nature of the beast is that is a tangled mess and unlike the likes of Blackpool there is no one clear enemy.
Getting shafted by all sides.
Black lives matter style...Could we do a protest that gets a major road into the Ricoh blocked off on the day of a Wasps match?

Among the support people's opinions on blame don't just differ slightly they are poles apart and it's ripping
The club apart.
Not sure the club will ever fully recover TBH

What, a lie down in front of a tank sort of gesture you mean?Could we do a protest that gets a major road into the Ricoh blocked off on the day of a Wasps match?
But it does matter doesn't it, supporting your football club should mean exactly that shouldn't it,Whose to blame is irrelevant it's the line of least resistance you target first.
Personally I do not buy the view that Wasps want CCFC out. Why would they? They need every penny they can get to repay their bond issue, and that needs they need rent, food and drink, etc generated by Cov. I don't blame them for that, they're not villains - if anything they have tried to accomodate CCFC rather than force us out. They seem like a sound business and I also do not blame the council - any council would want to attract a top level rugby team especially if you need a realistic buyer for your stadium after the anchor tenant has screwed you over.
The only rewriting of history has been those who think that CCFC's owners are not primarily to blame for the club's situation.
Accomodate is that much they won't discuss rent talks?
Serious question, would wasps ever want us in the premier league? Would they want us in the media for any sort of success?
Or would they love ccfc bad, wasps good type coverage..
The post seems a bit naive and could well just be straight from a statement in the telegraph.
Just a thought....could wasps be deliberately trying to distress sisu and buy us on the cheap.just something isn't sitting right in my headI know we've had some threads around the issue but I think we need to get some ideas out on the table and decide what actions can actually be taken.
The problem is the fragmentation of the fanbase. Blame apportionment and re-writing of history is far from helpful. My belief always has been that Wasps have wanted a cheap stadium for many years and Richardson identified this opportunity and it's why he purchased wasps. The subsequent events have been all conduits to wasps and the councils desire to bring this club here. There see wasps fans who equally concur with this viewpoint.
I believe now wasps want the club gone. I believe that this City of Rugby strategy is ultimately an attempt to get both union and league at the ground. Wasps I'm afraid have huge delusions of grandure. They believe wasps will be some sort of global brand and I'm sure the only other club they will ever integrate will be the rugby league club.
There have definitely been plants on this forum. That says a lot about their intent and desire to always be the positive good guy in this saga.
Their hold on local media is incredible and I an not sure how this has been done. Even CWR is skewed hugely to them. Today has been a walking advert for them.
There is in my mind no doubt that if wasps remain in coventry this club as well as the rugby club will be marginalised - I actually think the football club will cease to exist.
Whatever peoples views I personally find this a very sad and upsetting prospect. The football club has been a huge part of my life (often to my families annoyance) and the thought that it's going to be removed is not something that I can comprehend.
The future looks grim - with wasps it has no hope.
So can we think of something's we can do to try and counter this threat?
I would urge people to at least look at their forum. There is an arrogance - laughing at football fans for their poor grammar, claiming conentry needs wasps more than the other way round and telling the club to find some money and build something itself for once (that individual clearly doesn't appreciate irony) but at the same time there is nervous uncertainty. A concern if the placid and actually compliant fan base started to turn.
It is this that gives us our only hope. There is a lack of assurance - they know they have years before they can be fully entrenched.
So - what can we do? I've some thoughts - but what about anyone else?
I would ask this thread does not descend into the normal divergent blame game nonsense. If people don't share the view fine - but those that do - what do we think?
Because we will be getting 25-30k fans, floating fans will drop wasps and go back to watching ccfc. It will also mean tough competition for sponsorship deals, big sponsors would opt for ccfc over wasos due to more exposure. They dont make that much money from us in terms of profits on food, yet rent will be higher but that counter balances with the losing fans and greater competition for sponsorships and much less publicity, column inches as they get firmly relegated as the junior club in Coventry. Why would Wasps not want us in the PL ?

That does sound a bit naive..I don't buy the view Wasps want us out either.
Just think whatever party you talk to they have a problem talking to Sisu.
Don't think they particularly need us, but I think the more accommodating they are to the City the more people of Coventry will accept them.
The last thing they need to be doing right now is ruffling feathers and turning Coventry folk against them (not just City fans).
I know people are going to say 'academy' etc., but I don't believe Wasps have deliberately set out to kick us out of there, I just believe they have they have simply grabbed an opportunity.
They will obviously think Wasps first and everyone else second. Think they will accommodate us but it has to be on their terms.
As I have said before, we will only really know if they want us out when our deal runs out. Only then we will know if it's a reasonable offer or no offer at all.
Why would Wasps not want us in the PL ?
Of course they'd love it if we were in the PL, constantly at the forefront of the sports news, 30.000 atAccomodate is that much they won't discuss rent talks?

But all of them revenue streams that we would out perform them on would ultimately beWe would out perform them in every revenue stream going if we did.
Short of Wasps going bust, this is probably the second worst outcome for them.
