I heard that Doug has insisted for his full name to be used on shirt printing, sell 10 or more and we've funded an entire transfer window

Not sure on the media making out as though it was hijacked. As I said from the beginning, it's been a long time coming. A lot of time and effort has gone into securing him. Stand by what I said, think it's a good signing, shows intent and pushes us toward our goals of a more rotational squad. Good business.
Great work king

If he does we'll get another Doug U-turn when he realises it's now £12 for any name or number rather than priced per letter! He'd bankrupt us.

I remember detecting a slight twinge of annoyance when I asked for Huckerby on my kit over Dublin

Next logical step for Obikwu is a League 1 loan. If he goes and smashes it we have a decision to either keep him as backup next year or sell for £1m+

I’d be more in favour of a move to a team expected to challenge for L2. See if he can really build some momentum and if he’s doing well at Christmas look to move him to a L1 team for the remainder of the season.

Here's Phillip Larkin's take:

In Hull's grey heart, the faithful wait,
Their hopes pinned on a distant dream,
But fate, that cruel mistress, seals their fate,
And leaves them stranded by a cold, grey stream.

Brandon Thomas-Asante, swift and bright,
Promised to be the star we've longed to see,
Yet Sky Blue shirts, a siren's blight,
Lured him away, and left us in dismay.

The Tigers' roar now muted, soft and low,
In pubs and bars, our pints a bitter toast,
To what might have been, to dreams aglow,
Now shattered, left to haunt us like a ghost.

Hull, crowned with culture's fleeting grace,
Now feels the sting of yet another blow,
Each jilt, each loss, another harsh embrace,
Another striker gone, despair to show.

The pitch, once green with possibility,
Now seems a field of sorrow, lined with loss,
Each pass, each goal, a painful parody,
Of dreams deferred, now covered in a moss.

Yet still we stand, the faithful, every game,
Our hearts worn down by yet another blow,
For Hull's the place where hope and heartache claim,
Their due, in equal measure, as we know.

So here's to Brandon, gone to Sky Blue shores,
May Coventry bring all he hoped to find,
While here in Hull, we'll chant, our throats now hoarse,
And dream of days when fate will change her mind.
They fuck you up, Coventry City

Well, there are people thinking Sakamoto is starting ahead of EMC (£4.25m), Simms (£8m) or Wright (£9m)…

Joking aside, £2-3m for a sub striker who’s 25 with a good record at Championship level is a bargain. You’d easily spend that on a top end L1 player. We’ve also weakened WBA in the process. Simms nor Wright will have breathing space if they struggle for form whereas last season, their competition was Godden - who scored 1 league goal after September.

People were wetting their pants with excitement over us paying 5m for Stamenic who has never played in this country, who has played about 90 games in total and scored 4 goals. OK he is only 22 but even so. BTA still looks good business cheaper and less of a gamble.

I know they are apples and pears but getting value for money?

I have no idea why you are using goals to compare a striker and midfielder…

Goals weren't the only criteria and try reading the last sentence..

He is still cheaper and less risk than Stamenic over all considerations.

I think BTA will be a good signing but it’s weird to even use goals at all as a comparison between CM’s and strikers

They probably still owe us most of it?

So let's just call it quits and just pay Hamer a signing on fee, I know if only. 🥴
