The Bell at Monks Kirby was the venue of choice for a lock in back in the 60's-70's so I was told.

I was a late night regular there in the early/mid seventies. Don't recall seeing any city players in there.
Ian Gibson though (slightly earlier years) often used to catch the last same last no21 as me on a Friday night, steaming pissed. I could never work out how he functioned at 3pm on Saturday.
