Not if the rent maxes them out, I have neighbours who pay at least twice in rent as my mortgagesurely renting for 5/10/20 years would enable someone to get a deposit together ?
maybe not if they started today, but certainly 20 years ago ?

Hard to save
I remember in 2005 we were offered a 105% mortgage
And people wonder why there are so many disparities throughout society.....
This is a classic case of people expecting to get the result that they wanted and then throwing their toys out of the pram when it didn't go their way.Nice change of subject there pal, classic case of someone losing an argument.

We voted to exit. We will exit. And no amount of crying like a baby will work. Everyone needs to look to the future and the best way forward instead of telling people that voted to leave that they don't know what they voted for.
Here we go again :shy:If they knew what they voted for we wouldn't be having this discussion.
Here we go again :shy:
Both sides were full of shit. There was people on both sides that didn't know what they were voting for. But the majority did know. But you constantly come out with the line of only the exit voters didn't know.
I know this to be a fact as my wife was one of these that didn't know the truth on the remain vote. And a few days ago said if there was a revote would vote for the exit. And says several at work are the same.
Is that right? The remain vote was quite clear. We know what the EU is and where we stand. Leave was a vote for a lucky dip.
Is that right?
I take it you didn't hear what they were saying. All they got was lies. But it was all clear?

So now we are supposed to rate lies instead of admitting they were used on both sides?Really? Can you name one lie from the remain campaign that was in the same league as 350 million extra a week for the NHS from the brexit side?
Yes I do. A big waste of money for people we never voted in to spend it on what they want. Open borders that have meant there is not enough housing for all. And before you use the line of selling off council houses they are still lived in.Are you saying you didn't know what membership of the EU was? I think most people knew more about the EU than what Brexit means.

Exit lot 10/10 for their lies.
I said "I was out" on this subject but I've got to say this for the final time..... 40 odd years ago the UK voted to join a "Common Market". Which we did. We DID NOT vote to be ruled by a Belgium based EU. Are you saying you didn't know what that vote 40 years ago meant?
That really is my last post on this subject, so if you reply, don't expect anymore explanations of what I've said. Ok!

So we knew what the EU was by then but couldn't work out if we wanted out of it or not?The last vote was in June. We knew what the EU is by then, but we didn't know what Brexit meant. The only explanation from the government so far is that Brexit means Brexit. Great explanation. 17 million voted for that explanation of what they were voting for.
Be interesting to see what it really is.
So we knew what the EU was by then but couldn't work out if we wanted out of it or not?
And why no reply to JHFC? Put it quite well and said it as it was and is. There is much more to it than you would like everyone to believe.
Yes we don't know for sure what will happen when we finally leave. But I don't think the EU will bite their nose off to spite their face. Just like we don't know for sure what would happen in the future if we did stay in. Membership was costing more every year and more nations joining that are doing not as good and not ready to join a single currency. But most still join it. Then they lose the ability to change the value of their currency. So then they need bailing out even more.
Yet you try and make out that the bullshit was all on the exit side.I agree with Jhfc that it was a clusterfuck and loads of bullshit was given and have given him a like. I still think you knew more about the EU than about Brexit in June. I agree with liquid gold that the time to vote on Brexit is when the terms have been agreed, you know what it is and when the referendum is classed as binding. Better than people voting for the unknown. Then the matter can be closed for the foreseeable future.
Yet you try and make out that the bullshit was all on the exit side.
I learned more about the EU as I looked into it after the vote was publicised. And the more I found out the more I thought that getting out was best for my kids and grandkids.

I'm dipping in & out of this thread as there are far too many tangents to get fully involved, but only someone who wasn't listening or has subsequently been brainwashed could claim that the remain side did not lie like utter cunts as well.....
how about George Osbornes threat of an instant emergency budget?
How about the scaremongering of a house price collapse (something well overdue IMHO)
How about the "500,000" jobs to be lost.
How about the multiple doom-laden predictions from that clueless prick at the BofE......
I voted leave but was well informed about my choice, but i'd guess at least 60% of the electorate that did vote for either side did so out of fear, prejudice, or anger......or simply did what they were told!
I'm sure there were many leave voters motivated by immigration issues or the NHS funding lie.....I'm also sure there were many sheep-like voters on the remain side who voted the way their multi-national/corporate employer or corrupt union told them too....
The whole thing was a massive clusterfuck.........but hopefully we still leave (I have my doubts) and hopefully we do so after a full & comprehensive review & debate.....
Most peopleNo I don't try and make that out. I make out that people at least knew what the EU was when they voted remain. We had been in it for 40+ years. Brexit was fantasy land and everyone had their own picture of what Brexit was and what they were voting for. Nobody to this day knows what it entails. If we agree terms and then have a referendum on the agreed terms v what we know of the EU, then we are making an informed decision. Even better if we make it a binding referendum and check the legals before we do it instead of afterwards.
So having open borders has nothing to do with the overcrowding that we now have. And I need to show proof in this? You've posted little evidence of that on this forum and seem to blame the EU for faults of successive UK governments. Let's hope your kids or grandchildren won't be language enthusiasts who want to go on Erasmus and experience living in another European country.
The thought of my child being bilingual with 3 citizenships and Europe at his/her fingertips makes me happy.

Do I need proof of the gravy train that the EU is?
Why is it that those protesting about the lies from the exit lot never mention the lies from the remain lot but those who see the benefits of leaving mention both sides lied to us?
We knew that things would need to be negotiated. We buy much more from the EU than they buy from us. Yet we are supposed to believe that they will want high tariffs for themselves. No I don't try and make that out. I make out that people at least knew what the EU was when they voted remain.
