Strong disagree I like Friday nights particularly at home! In a city like Cov I do think a Friday night game where a lot of people are coming out of the factories, straight to the pub and to the match, excited for the start of the weekend and a couple of days off makes for the best atmosphere of the lot

Cannot stand 12.30s - I am up at the crack of dawn most mornings for work, 12.30 kick offs are just another (needlessly) early morning and a load of rushing around if it's an away match

No problem whatsoever with home Friday nights. Anything outside of 12:30/3pm on a Saturday away is shit though.

Cov and the surrounding areas are working class places where a lot of people work in manufacturing (absolutely nothing wrong with that)

I mean we were massive on the manufacturing front of course, but it's mainly died on its arse has it not?

I'd make an educated guess that compared to the heyday of Cov manufacturing employing over half the city id sayabout 15% of is now in manufacturing

Going with a supporters club its all about the day out. A big draw factor is the social side and stop off before the game at a local pub or club where everyone has a few beers and a good time before the game.
first two away games have been a 12.30 ko putting a stop to a stop off before and an early start.
really upset the whole away day experience this season

Local(ish) one for me. Gonna stay over the night before. We might check out the Tobacco Factory on the Friday night which seemed good the last time we went.
Im a big fan of Bristol. Plenty to do and I like the vibe of the place.

Fair play, we're making a whole weekend of it, being Bank holiday too.

As you say, nice vibes akin to Brighton almost.

We do need some recommendations though for boozer's tbh.

Might be best off asking @Liquid Gold who I think knows the place far better than me.
But there are a couple of nice pubs in Clifton and that place the Tobacco Factory seemed good.
There’s a pub right near st Nicolas market which Has pool tables and a jukebox if that’s your thing.

For the game you're basically restricted to Bristol Beer Factory or Tobacco Factory as others have mentioned. If the weather is nice you can just grab some drinks and chill in the park behind the ground, loads of locals do the same on a nice day.

Afterwards I would head back into town via The Orchard on Spike Island, it's a proper cider boozer, get some local scrumpies and set you away.

From there I would do one of the following:

Floating Harbour crawl - The Cottage, The Pump House, The Grain Barge, The Ostrich, The Louisiana.
The Old Town - loads of bars including games bars, cocktail bars and late night places. Near St Nicks Market as TD said.
Gloucester Road - Start at the bottom of Stokes Croft at the Full Moon then work your way as far up as you can handle. Dozens of places.
Clifton Village - Bit of a fancier vibe if that's for you, nice few cocktail bars and go to The White Lion beer garden for great views over the suspension bridge.
Clifton Triangle/Park Street - more studenty but tonnes of bars.
North Street - should be open after the game and you can slowly make your way back to town.
King Street - Start at The Apple, a cider bar on a boat, then make your way down the Georgian pedestrianised street that has about 10 places to drink.

She really didn't. Blame her for the miners or the railways by all means, bur the car industry was already self destructing in the 70s due to militant action. My dad worked at the Jag throughout and was fed up of not even knowing what they were going out for. Eventually left, trying to raise a young family in the late 70s working an average of 2 days per week. So bad he earned money after when he was a milkman for a while.
