Don’t mind the 12:30 KO’s at all. Certainly better than Friday night, Saturday evening or Sunday!
Not everybody is there to drown in alcohol or have the shittest breakfast known to man.
Works until your more inclined to stay in for a TV favourite in my experience!Friday and Saturday nights are amazing for people who like to drown in alcohol...
Strong disagree I like Friday nights particularly at home! In a city like Cov I do think a Friday night game where a lot of people are coming out of the factories, straight to the pub and to the match, excited for the start of the weekend and a couple of days off makes for the best atmosphere of the lot
Cannot stand 12.30s - I am up at the crack of dawn most mornings for work, 12.30 kick offs are just another (needlessly) early morning and a load of rushing around if it's an away match
Cov and the surrounding areas are working class places where a lot of people work in manufacturing (absolutely nothing wrong with that)
Not sure it is that bad. Selling block N35 now which I assume is the last block they'd sell (could well be wrong though). No mention from the club but I've got a bad feeling it's really low. Maybe 1800.
…or just get up a couple of hours earlier maybe?Going with a supporters club its all about the day out. A big draw factor is the social side and stop off before the game at a local pub or club where everyone has a few beers and a good time before the game.
first two away games have been a 12.30 ko putting a stop to a stop off before and an early start.
really upset the whole away day experience this season
'A city like Cov, people coming out of the factories'
It's not the 1930's bro
Fair play, we're making a whole weekend of it, being Bank holiday too.Local(ish) one for me. Gonna stay over the night before. We might check out the Tobacco Factory on the Friday night which seemed good the last time we went.
Im a big fan of Bristol. Plenty to do and I like the vibe of the place.
Might be best off asking @Liquid Gold who I think knows the place far better than me.Fair play, we're making a whole weekend of it, being Bank holiday too.
As you say, nice vibes akin to Brighton almost.
We do need some recommendations though for boozer's tbh.
Cheers LG!For the game you're basically restricted to Bristol Beer Factory or Tobacco Factory as others have mentioned. If the weather is nice you can just grab some drinks and chill in the park behind the ground, loads of locals do the same on a nice day.
Afterwards I would head back into town via The Orchard on Spike Island, it's a proper cider boozer, get some local scrumpies and set you away.
From there I would do one of the following:
Floating Harbour crawl - The Cottage, The Pump House, The Grain Barge, The Ostrich, The Louisiana.
The Old Town - loads of bars including games bars, cocktail bars and late night places. Near St Nicks Market as TD said.
Gloucester Road - Start at the bottom of Stokes Croft at the Full Moon then work your way as far up as you can handle. Dozens of places.
Clifton Village - Bit of a fancier vibe if that's for you, nice few cocktail bars and go to The White Lion beer garden for great views over the suspension bridge.
Clifton Triangle/Park Street - more studenty but tonnes of bars.
North Street - should be open after the game and you can slowly make your way back to town.
King Street - Start at The Apple, a cider bar on a boat, then make your way down the Georgian pedestrianised street that has about 10 places to drink.
Bristol can keep your average boozer busy for years.
Yet again somebody who doesn’t know what he’s talking aboutYeah thanks to Maggie Thatcher, destroyed the Car Factories in Cov.
She really didn't. Blame her for the miners or the railways by all means, bur the car industry was already self destructing in the 70s due to militant action. My dad worked at the Jag throughout and was fed up of not even knowing what they were going out for. Eventually left, trying to raise a young family in the late 70s working an average of 2 days per week. So bad he earned money after when he was a milkman for a while.Yeah thanks to Maggie Thatcher, destroyed the Car Factories in Cov.
No need for anything after the phrase 'some local scrumpies'! I've been able to handle a pretty decent intake of alcohol for as long as I can remember, but that suff proper feks you up if you're not 'local'. No idea how some of the regulars drink a gallon of the stuff! For the game you're basically restricted to Bristol Beer Factory or Tobacco Factory as others have mentioned. Yep, so many factors for it failing. Lots before she came to power and lots of reasons BL self imploded despite her govt propping them up.Yet again somebody who doesn’t know what he’s talking about
Maybe a trade deal at fault, don't know the status but the Japanese came over and we have Sunderland and Derby?Yep, so many factors for it failing. Lots before she came to power and lots of reasons BL self imploded despite her govt propping them up.
It is a completely different drunk. No need for anything after the phrase 'some local scrumpies'! And how many times did the track stop because of strikes? Oh and by the way remind me how long did Longbridge strike for when they closed Canley and they got the work?I worked at the Standard Triumph from the 70s/80s only ever went on Strike Twice, once for pay and once to Support the Triumph Factory in Liverpool.
So I do know what went on.
And how many times did the track stop because of strikes? Oh and by the way remind me how long did Longbridge strike for when they closed Canley and they got the work?
Then why did you start? This is a Football Forum I'm Not going to get into an Argument about Unions.
No absolutely not recognise the issue of homegrown industrial problems both management and workforce, just trying to understand why Datsun's were so popular as they used to rot as well and many of them had old tech provided by British industry (engines specifically, full circle to the Chinese offerings?Everything bar the obvious eh Wingy.
So,getting back on track , how many have we sold.
Yeah thanks to Maggie Thatcher, destroyed the Car Factories in Cov.

I'm really impressed with your input, hopefully we can find a few bar's that sell real ales, cheersFor the game you're basically restricted to Bristol Beer Factory or Tobacco Factory as others have mentioned. Missed the point (I guess on purpose). You took it off tangent, incorrectly blaming Maggie for the demise. It was pointed out to you how miles off you were and suddenly wanted to ironically mention it was a football forum as if someone else had taken it in that direction ... but you already knew that of course, so like most on here will double down or move the goalposts rather than give up.I didn't know Maggie Thatcher was a union Leader.
