The rugby club and football club are owned by the same person, I think he also own a basketball team and hockey team, it all come under the same umbrella of Bristol Sports

Agreed, plus because the football club are bigger, more prominent and the primary owner of the the ground, it's adding not diluting their branding.
Like Moff said, I wouldn't be against sharing with CRFC, but I wouldn't want to share with wasps.

There is not much worse in sport than half and half scarves apart from people over 40 wearing football shirts (normally they are to small as well which is amazing as we only seem to sell xxxxl one's) if you want it to look worse put your name on the back and wear the full kit!

CRFC sold dozens of shirts on Saturday..............typical Coventry though, it's because they were knocking box loads of them out for a tenner ! Have to confess though we bought a couple !

Tbh I don't like Wasps, don't want them here and hope they do bust or at least fuck off.
However, they are here and they own the Ricoh, CCFC now, regardless of any supposed intention to build their own stadium, should seek to get as much out of the deal as possible. If that means a joint shop then why not?

Not moaning just haven't had one in a while and my 2012 shirt is shrinking (not me getting bigger) and fancy buying the new one

Possibly, CRFC will finish third in the division this time around (iirc). It's a hard league to get out of though, and only one team goes up.
Average attendances are up significantly this year (on the back of a successful season, rather than the "Wasps effect" I suspect), and if CRFC can hang on to a few of their better players, and add wisely, there's every chance of a good tilt at it again next season.
It's all about the funds available really - it's why CRFC can't afford to lose fans to Wasps. If you've got any interest in rugby, and you're from Coventry, come and watch the team from the city, rather than from London!

Hi gents - you are spot on our Major Shareholder (in reality owner) Steve Lansdown recently put some money into Bristol Rugby to save them going under , on the agreement they came to a revamped Ashton Gate to maximise use of the stadium
he visited Barcelona and was surprised to find that Barcelona is much wider than the football club, albeit at the centre with a basketball side , water polo etc etc
he liked this idea and Bristol Sport has developed
he he has financially supported basketball, a promising young racing driver etc etc - He doesn't get involved in the actual running of the rugby or the other sports but 'Bristol Sport' supports them financially and with publicity, media etc etc and of course the Rugby Club now play at Ashton Gate
he has made himself a very rich man and wants to enhance Bristol Sport for the City and leave a legacy.

Good post and many good points. Additionally. Wasps see that the majority of their new found friends don't actually come from Coventry but Warwickshire and many come from Birmingham. It would be in Wasps best interest to rename themselves Warwickshire Wasps. When I have been to see them I even saw a few supporters with Villa hats on. On the other hand it would be in CCFC's best interest to forge closer links with CRFC and try to look at doing a ground share with them. If they are ambitious they would seriously have to look at building a bigger stadium themselves and the Butts isn't ready for that. If SISU bought CRFC they could then own both sports clubs and when they build their stadium they would have two team's interested in the stadium
