Disappointed but not disheartened. In end we ran out of steam. When on top you have to take the chances. For 3/4 of that game we competed very well and played some good football

Overall, a loss is harsh on us. But, if you give away a poor goal from kickoff and a soft corner kick, you get what you deserve in this league.

Some positives to take from the game, so I’m not concerned based on this first performance.

Yeah we burned out. We all know this season is gonna be a massive ball ache and not as enjoyable as the last.

We didn't deserve to lose thatgame. Time and again we hit their post, saved off the line. Their keeper kept them in it. Second half with Hamer and Allen off we lost our advantage a little and then poor marking from a corner sealed our fate. Rose needs to be back, dabo will make a huge difference and Shipley needs to play second half as good as his first half! Otherwise not disappointed really. Bristol got away with it and we dominated for long periods. Onwards and upwards.

We ran out of gas after about 70 mins and luckily didn’t lose more heavily. They let us attack and were happy to conserve energy and hit us later. We should have taken our chances earlier. We need to learn our lesson and improve.

Having seen it back, are we zonal marking from corners? Looks more like shipley is marking a zone rather than a man, so the lads got the run on him.

I thought we played very well for most of the game, we just switched off for their goals, but it was alarming that we ran out of steam after 70 minutes.
Once we are up to speed, I can see us surprising a few.

Gutted - things seemed to change when Allen went off, though I suspect the fatigue was beginning to set in around then anyway

A pity to concede that way too. We were all over them for long spells in the first half.

I remain optimistic overall

Lots of positives, difficult to take but that's championship football... Missed hamer when he went off and probably should have kept Allen on but we looked tired... I'm not at all concerned we aren't good enough to compete... Because we are

Hard to judge as I don't really know where Bristol rate in terms of quality compared to the rest of the Championship. People were shitting themselves in the week like we were playing Barcelona and I feared a hammering.

Shame we couldn't hold on for a point. Lots of positives though. Fitness obviously an issue but that's likely to be down to our season finishing early March while they played until the end of July. Maybe that will work in advantage later in the season.

Important not to get into a run of defeats so Friday will be important. Will be interesting to see what Robins does Tuesday in the cup regarding the players who need to get their match fitness up to speed.

Dabo and Rose back and we'll be fine. Agreed I'd like one more CDM unless Eccles progresses.

Not too disheartened. We showed we belong at this Level.

Difference is however we’ve got to take those chances. We could have got away with that one in League One.

Bentley was class though

Plenty of positives to take from the game. Not sure the answer is new signings as some have suggested. Seems to be the same old faces panicking on previous threads jumping the gun once again.

Robins did say in his interview yesterday that we're probably a month off where we're supposed to be. If that's the case then I'm very optimistic about our chances this season.

Hate it when we give a rubbish goal away. You surely must be able to mark a man
Really disappointed with the goal. Why oh why Shipley has drifted and allowed the man to be A) goal side and B) totally unmarked Is unthinkable. Basic stuff. At any level of adult football, no player should be able to side foot the ball into the net direct from a corner with zero pressure. Very poor.

On the whole though, a very positive and promising performance from all. Bring on the rest of the season!

A lot more confident about the season ahead after that. Hamer will learn what he can’t get away with in England, Østigård and Sheaf and Walker will improve with time with the squad.

In a different game Kelly and Hamer aren’t forced off and we don’t lose that. Lots of positives to take away.

We will learn from our mistakes and we are good enough to compete in most games. Hamer and O’Hare will be massive for us
