Palmer made the goal. Dovin made good saves.

Everybody was crap. Ref was dog shit and robins too negative.

Harsh on Bids Blind Faith - he was brilliant in the 1-1 first half. Wright also showed quality at times but couldn't sustain it into the second half.

Dovin 6

Good save or two but faffs about a bit with distribution. I’m sure he’ll get to grips.

MVE 7

His pace tracking back is immense. Didn’t have his passing boots on going forward or drive on like he can.

Lati 6

Not 100% comfortable with him there.

Binks 7

Solid overall.

Bidwell 6

Faded as game went on. Had Bristol narrowed the pitch to stop outside game? Bidwell kept putting the ball over the line.

Eccles 5

Poor overall. Made their midfield look better than they are.

Torp 5

Poor distribution and seemed to lack awareness as to what was going on.

Rudoni 6

Quiet

Sakamoto 6

See above re width. Couldn’t play his normal game.

Simms 6

Didn’t get much service.

Wright 7

Decent wing play but has stopped chopping back and shooting. Unsure why. When he got swung at he would have been better off going down - surely the BC player would have had a red.

Subs

Palmer 7

Great close control and exquisite finish.

BTA 6

Fluffed it in front of goal after some great play.

EMC 6

Good option off the bench.

Dasilva 6

Reasonable.

Robins 7

Can’t understand why he didn’t put Kitching or Thomas on for Eccles and get Lati into midfield.

7s and 8s for Lati far too much. He was turned square for Armstrong 3 times in the first half an hour. Made some good clearances and in the air but could've been well behind by then.

I thought Rudoni and Torp were especially poor. At least Eccles was throwing himself about a bit.

All three had poor games though.

Dovin MOTM.

Besides that, the subs did okay and Wright looked dangerous at times. Not MVE's best game, but compared to everyone else, he looked leagues apart.

Saka was very disappointing and Simms, not really in the game.

Very lucky to get a point out of that

Not sure how Ellis simms can even be rated , he had 6 touches today

Some people have rated him higher or the same as other players

Overall, we were pants today. Stoke two, the return against a better side. Lucky not to lose.
We have been found out playing wingers, as the other sides flood the midfield and make our central players look poor and get outnumbered on the ball. That said, there was a lack of tackling in midfield and a good Bristol side took advantage. We used to hunt in packs in midfield, now other teams are doing it to us. It did not help that Eccles, Torp and Rudoni were all pretty hopeless struggling to put passes together, tackle and needlessly giving the ball away. Wingers will only work if they get on the ball and beat their marker. Tats was poor, Hadji Wright started well but they ganged up on him and he faded.
Defence was fine and it took a worldie to score for them. Our tactics of allowing opposition teams to have a man over on the edge of the area from set pieces has looked a poor decision.
Dovin is the classic Euro goalie, push it to safety and punch rather than catch. There are advantages to either method of goalkeeping. Dovin MOM.
Subs gave us a lift with Palmer playing a crucial role as he did in the cup match. EMC looked a handful with power rather than pace. JDS never put a foot wrong again shoring up the left hand side. The other subs gave us energy.
Simms was too quiet again and must create more in tight matches where we defend for long periods of time.
Not sure if the subs starting would change the dynamic.
Second string against Oxford. Wonder what team they will put out?

Eccles & Torp yet to play well this season. Far from me to doubt Robins but maybe an attempt to be a bit more adventurous away from home may be a better approach. The side needs Sheaf and a new midfield addition who can go straight in from the off.

Dovin MOTM is far too kind. Bias from some decent shot stopping. Bottled multiple crosses, does not command the back line at all.

Just got back. Another disappointing display. Moving was good, Palmer was OK. Some good play I'm isolation, but God that midfield was woeful.

Fans in good voice, but have to mention the young twats who broke a seat by us. Theybthought it was funny. Pricks.

Not sure why people think dasilva has been playing better than Bidwell.

Bidwell saved a certain goal.
Whilst Bidwell did nothing wrong today it’s just the little things in possession which hold us back. It’s not a passing avenue the players use if he’s within a few yards of opposition players. You can see Binks will check back rather than play him the ball

There was one moment in the first half where he played a ball to Haji, which whilst he completed the pass, he played it with poor technique which Haji wasn’t able to control.

You bring JD on and you can play little triangles and progress it better

Rudoni 7 is wild. One of the worst individual performances I’ve seen from a city player in a while.
Agree with most of the rest. MVE only getting a 6 feels a bit harsh though. He won every 1v1 duel and was solid the whole game.

Great point about Wright, he should have thrown himself to the ground, every other team's players do it so we should as well

Just poor overall and it's a slight worry as like most of our last 10 league games last season, it's becoming a habit. Torp was so far off the pace and honestly should have been subbed off first half as it was obvious to me and I'm sure many others he wouldn't improve. We need leadership in that team, and some quality in the midfield

Edit to say that a point away from home is something I would have taken before hand, and was worried would slip us by at ht
