So
"Those people look like they might have knives"
Proceed to chase those people down an alley.
Knife found in the bin. Shock, both you and the telegraph seem keen to forget that fact.
A knife was also found in a bin once they run prints we will all know thisI'm not saying it was a deliberate setup, or a co-ordinated racist attack. I'm saying it might have been one or two idiots causing trouble, and it turning into something a lot nastier because of false rumours. And people's racial profiling (i.e. "those two guys look like they might be carrying knives") might well have had something to do with it. Clearly there's people on here who think that's impossible, or that you have to be an evil racist to even experience that. I disagree. I think a lot of people are overestimating how reliable eyewitness testimony is, and how people's biases play into it. Maybe that's why some people are more than happy to believe anyone who said "they've got a knife", but are outraged when someone says "no they didn't".

This is why I made a point of pointing out to the Telegraph they failed to mention a knife being found. Wonder if they would have been so keen to report that if not?
People are literally ignoring facts, that includes the fucking racist by the statue. People are getting worked up about something that clearly isn't a knife in a picture as well.
How far do you go to defend and ignore knife crime?

The other fact is that other city fans / friends have seen the knife, heard them say it and were there. Now compare that to a random woman from London who has seen an article which doesn't even mention a knife is found.
They defo had a knife I was there everyone was shouting it soon as it was pulled this is why the city lads chased them ok no knife found on them but the one in the bin will have been the knife they hadThey told people they had a knife, I know people who they told.
Yes Sad Bullshitting Twunt they did tell they police.
It's a fact that proves absolutely nothing about who was carrying it. So far, all the police have said about those two guys is that neither one was armed (I know this because I read it in the Telegraph)

I find it amazing how much abuse people get for pointing out that a knife was recovered.
Exactly, strangely rather than say "Knife crime is wrong" it's much better to say "It was planted".
No city fans are having issues saying that prick in the video was wrong.

There is a picture of one of citt fans with a sharp object whilst holding the bin lid but its way too inconclusive really.
My friend was there and says same that they lads werw holding a knife
City centre not safe anymore
Jesus - that's pretty rich coming from a Englishman - was it 4m people starved in Bengal?Jesus - that's pretty rich coming from a Rwandan - was it 900,000 Tutsis hacked to pieces?
His names sandeep..you sure he wasn't drawing on his deep seated racial prejudices to conjure up a scenario that didn't exist simultaneously with dozens of other people?
Basically it's only a few head wobblers on twitter who care
Let's move on and enjoy promotion, let the police nail the 2 cunts with a knife.

I hope they do the prick who made the video for hate crime as well.
No not that pic, I agree thats clearly a flag endIt's clearly not a knife he's holding. He is stood there talking to a police woman with it.
I am not sure the police would have allowed him to stand talking to them like that with a knife in his hand.

I didn't say it did. It's just that you seem to have only mentioned certain parts.
Good job I asked the telegraph to update their story else you wouldn't have even known a knife was found.
You keep saying there is nothing to say they had a knife, multiple city fans saw them with a knife, people were panicking and shouting they have a knife, a knife was found where they ran to.
It's not comparible to a random woman who knows nothing about it, knows nobody who was there or even knows who CCFC are saying they are innocent and it was a racist attack.
We're both only mentioning certain parts of the story! Tons of people on here are falling over themselves over a knife found in a bin; then there's just me pointing out that nothing has been proven yet. It's called balance. I've never denied that the eyewitnesses may well be proved correct, and it's an important part of understanding what happened, but there's a good reason we don't convict people on eyewitness evidence alone. And I do think it's interesting how defensive people get when someone even dares suggest that things may not be as they seem.
And please drop your Telegraph obsession - I found out about the bin thing because you helpfully posted the police statement. By the time I read about it in the CT, it was in there too. I don't read it very often, because it's mostly crap. The fact you're one of those 'Points of View' types who writes in and complains about minute-by-minute coverage suggests you care a lot more them than I do (though I highly doubt they added the detail on your suggestion)
Well they are! Woukd never be friends with white person! Now stop being racistI was being sarcastic given some of the shit SBT has been posting.
Also didn't want to assume that just because you're Sikh your mate was as well.
I hope so - We have a 'rep' to uphold.Sure it wasn't a cat?
