Hmm I wonder what really is going on now. He was the one link that CCFC had with the fans. He gave us time unlike the rest of the board.

Not good enough. Time Ken told us what's really happening. If I were a small business supplying the club I'd want cash up front right now. As none of this feels right.

"delivers a better experience to the fans in the coming year" - is the singular year significant or am I just reading too much into it?

If SISU now own one half of the stadium I'd say that would be mission accomplished for him. He was only brought in because he is director of one of the biggest entertainment firms in the world.

In his own words he found it "increasingly difficult for me to continue to provide the kind of hands on attention the Club requires and deserves."

I wonder if that's the "hands on attention" we're getting from a certain orange-tanned "chairman" who lives in Portugal.

No mention of Brody's continuing directorship of the mysterious Otium Entertainment Group either.

:thinking about:The plot thickens.

When did SISU get their hands on half of the stadium?

i'd say this is more likely to mean he has a deal to stay on as a consultant for a year rather than anything else.

what did he actually do for the club? Make promises about 'Franchise' players and chat bollox on twitter and even then he stopped that?

Communicated with fans on Twitter when fans were crying out for communication from the board (he had no need to, continued to do so even when receiving abuse, and now the cycle begins again when we want communication from the club).

'Franchise player'...I liked the comment. Showed an awareness of sports marketing and the importance of King to the club. Would morale, position and attendances be quite so low if our 'franchise player' had inked a new contract? I doubt it. I don't think the guy should be hung for using a north American term where the meaning has equal impact across the Atlantic.

why?

The fans were crying out for communication and he gave it. I also liked the way he spoke on twitter. refusing to crack (okay maybe once he did) at the absolute bollocks some people spouted at him. He always answered generally and without going into the secrets of the club what he said was probably the truth.

The problem with most football fans, myself included, is the truth is maybe hard to take at times. He just said it how it was. At the time of him answering the board probably had discussed many of the ideas and ways forward he talked about. He was in a lose lose situation and fair play to the guy he lasted longer at trying to be diplomatic online than maybe i would.

Celebrations all round! He is an absolute fucking muppet anyway... Communication is all good and well but at least go about it with some kind of professionalism.

The term "Franchise Player" completely fails to translate to UK sports, especially football. If anything, it showed his shocking ignorance regarding football. And you're kinda missing the point that HE SAID WE'D GET A BLOODY REPLACEMENT FRANCHISE PLAYER! WHERE IS HE THEN, EH?!??!

Gah, there's really no need to continue being such a lickspittle, he's gone now.

The guy's business is Digital and Social Media so to think he got bombed off Twitter is a bit of an embarrassment for someone... I think he was brought in because of sports entertainment and venue links which in theory had potential, but his efforts at Twitter engagement were pretty embarrassing... Right from that first press conference you could see a tension as obviously a SISU hired in guy (and mate of Onye) that Ken Delieu didn't know from Adam and was suspicious of: - "our man on the ether... I leave the internet to My Grandkids etc"...

what a 'farcically predictable & trite' - club statement,
'kd' or 'oi', you embarrass yourself/selves, further,
are you 'kd/oi' aware that you are hated, not because of financial prudence, but because you are perceived to be a liars, deceivers, & charlatans,
call a 'fans forum' when you attend,
(not with an invited audience though),
AND DEFEND YOU ACTIONS,
si** sh**

Only if you're dense.

If anything, it showed his shocking ignorance regarding football.

Utter nonsense. To identify the long-term, beyond-the-pitch value of a key player displays no ignorance at all. "Marlon King is an exceptionally valuable player to CCFC"/"You know nothing about football!" Bah.

And you're kinda missing the point that HE SAID WE'D GET A BLOODY REPLACEMENT FRANCHISE PLAYER! WHERE IS HE THEN, EH?!??!

Interesting that you use the term 'franchise player' so correctly and so soon after saying that it doesn't translate to UK sports... As for the replacement, nowhere to be seen. Does this mean he lied? Nobody can ever know. It's another of the pitfalls of communicating with the fans. Better to say nothing at all with people like you holding onto every word for dear life.

Gah, there's really no need to continue being such a lickspittle, he's gone now.

Go apply a wet cloth to your face. If you fluster yourself every time you hear different points of view you really shouldn't be on a forum.

I wouldn't say he was a liar. He could have been misled. He could have said a few things that never came to fruition but doubt he lied.

The first thing anyone thinks if the things talked about online never happen is it's a lie. It could be he should have said things may happen rather than they were happening but i'm sure he never
blatantly lied.
