Maybe he could open a chain of Burge King restaurants where you get a freebie for beating him in a dash to the half way line

After Willis and Burges’ abysmal showings (by no means on their own) during the relegation season, I wanted them out of the door as the whole team were a disgrace.
In truth the L2 campaign probably done more good then bad for these 2 in particular. Willis if he wishes to chance his arm at the Championship I would wish him all the best but I fear he would be out of his depth as he would be coming up against the likes of Abraham every week.
Burge would be so out of his depth I feel it would be embarrassing for him, and after his years of cockups in the first team it would be sticking 2 fingers up to the club who could have easily binned him but that’s football I guess and we have to remember it’s a short career and in reality it’s their job first and foremost.
Davies would be replaceable and his level is L1 at best but can understand if he wants to move on especially now Hyam has come to the fore.

I felt that in the relegation season we had 2 keepers low on confidence not helped by the constant criticism of both of them. Burge emerged as the stronger character and now as the better keeper. Your view of him may be shared by many as was the view that players like Maddison and Wilson wouldn't make it above the league we were in. Not very good judges are we?
Willis had poor players alongside him and had injury issues but I would have said that Baresi and Maldini would have struggled in that defence.
Willis was not the problem, he was just not the solution on his own.
Willis and Burge would flourish with better players around them at a higher level in my opinion.

I could see burge playing for a lower championship team like Wigan or Bolton he's not good enough for a team challenging for promotion but lower championship I think he could on a job and probably wouldn't be on big money either

I think L1 is about the right level for the three of them at this point in time and can't see any of them getting decent offers at Championship level or similar to any offer we could make at L1. So I don't think money will be a major factor.

Burge is improving well the last few years despite a few errors but I don't think clubs higher up would be looking at him that seriously as a No.1.

Willis could have Championship interest but again I don't think it'd be as a guaranteed starter and I think clubs might be a bit put off by him always carrying some form of niggling injury.

Davies is the most likely to go but for 1st team football. This seems about his level - old fashioned kick-and-head it centre half and I'm also a bit worried as to his temperament and feel he's going to get a ban or two.

Personally I reckon if Willis and Burge are offered a two year deal on a bit of an increase they'll stay. If Davies gets an offer at this level where the team plan on playing him every week he'll join them, if not he'll stay assuming we offer him a contract extension.

I’m quite surprised Bristol were interested. Willis would probably cope fine in the Championship but I wouldn’t say he’s anywhere near at the standard where he could compete for places in a play-off chasing side...

Don't think Willis not wanting to move in January means too much, he would get a better deal personally in the summer.

All three I’d class as senior players, looks ominous to me and if we put them alongside Doyle, Ogogo, Andreu and JCH that’s a lot of experience to replace this summer.
I hope it’s not our at the moment unclear future sparking this.

Davies or Willis already has been replaced.

Andreu lets face it doesn't really count.

I’m not that fussed about any of them to be honest, Robins has been proactive and signed. a number of youngsters for those positions, I’d like to see him give Corey Addai a few games before the end of the season to see how he fairs, after all he’s 21 should be ready by now. Think we will need two or three experienced players to supplement these youngsters.

I'm sure the unclear future of the club probably would've been discussed between the agent and their player. How much of an effect it's going to have with regards to contract discussions is something only they will know. Regardless, as it stands we're set to lose 7 player out of 18 match day regulars so you're right MR certainly has a big job on his hands in the summer recruitment-wise. But I'm sure himself, AV and Badlan are already working day in day out to draft a pretty extensive shortlist so I'm not particularly worried.

Not surprised he didn't go in January, as a free agent he'll get a much larger signing on fee. May be unrelated but I saw the Bristol City scout at the Gillingham game which after the window had closed.

7??? Are we? Who? Willis, Burge, Sterling, Thomas, Davies, Bright? Who's the 7th? (Genuine question...) I agree it;s a huge task to replace so many... I think most are replaceable- perhaps not Thomas, Sterling to the same standard of player, but can get some decent players in i'm sure.

Willis i think will sign.

Grimmer is the 7th.

EDIT: Make that 8 actually with LOB

Willis had better hope the scout left early and didn't notice the header back to Burge for their late equaliser! Bristol City are on an incredible run right now, and so I would have thought Willis would be a bench warmer (at best) in their current set up.

For me, Willis has been our best, most consistent player this season. Yes he made the error against Gillingham, but I can't think of many other goals that could be attributed to him this season. Alongside a bigger powerful centre half partner, his extra pace could easily allow him to play at Championship level.

Hopefully the scout was put off by his howler...

The only thing that could perhaps let him down is his size. If look at the amount of CB's in the Champ that are under 6" it's barely any.
