As versus Sheff Utd, a box midfield but with Tats replacing Rudoni?

4/5 summer signings on the bench. Someone’s got to be asking questions of Austin.
Absolutely agree. The money we are spending they need to be good enough to start. If not, and they do not drastically improve, it is poor recruitment.

Him and EMC are the real worries for me. Just for the combo of fee and lack of playing time.
IMO we overpaid for both of them. I suspect EMC is seen as the Haji replacement for next season. Let’s not forget as well that they’re also signings to add depth to the squad.

Kitching was 100% a Robins signing. I don't even think the signings are that bad overall tbh so not sure what you're on about here. There's a lot of Austin recommendations in the starting line up too.

Love Thomas but his passing this year has been pants (unlike last season). That is why the back three was switched around. Lati on the right to do the basics and Binks to do the distribution from the back. That is why good teams leave Thomas with possession rather than Binks as Thomas passing has been poor.

One team have done that this season - Derby. And it wasn’t because Thomas’s passing was poor. It was to limit the different number of possible out-balls / cut the passing lanes.

Basically it was a really smart tactic imo and I don’t personally believe it was to do with his ability to pass out from the back. More based on the fact he’ll take on a risky pass and Derby knew where he was likely to try it!

I don't actually think the signings are bad , I think there is an argument as to the fees paid on some of them .. but all of the players signed are good enough to be part of an overall good squad , we are a couple short still

Just feel we didn’t move the squad on last summer really. Didn’t fill the gaps or upgrade anyone any significant amount.

I think overall the quality of player and value for money has gone down since he took over tbh.

We filled out the squad but I think we missed out on 2 or 3 real quality additions in certain areas

I disagree massively on the quality of player, our squad is the best it's been since the Prem days. As for value for money, it's mixed I suppose, does Austin negotiate the fees?
