Losing to Burnley away is not exactly a disaster when taken in isolation. Although I didn’t think for a long time they looked anything special themselves. I think more the worry is that somehow we’ve gone from a team that looked like it could win anywhere to a team that could lose against anyone. Our mouths were watering in August at the prospect of such a supposedly strong squad but blatantly some of our new options have turned out to be very disappointing. A new manager will need a huge slice of luck to get the same players firing…..and I think we’ve used some of our luck recently playing teams with 10 men.

You mean he changed things too much? But I’m reliably informed he never changed anything.

You lot really need a meeting where you agree what nonsense you’re going to spout so you don’t end up contradicting each other.

The worse thing is, us pro Robins lot get told to move on but posters like him mention him in every post!
I'm just trying to ignore their drivel.

Thirty fucking games!!

depending on when they are appointed, who they are allowed to bring with them, whether they are pressured straight away, how much backing they get in January….

but yeah, 28 games is a decent amount - we would have to win 16 of those though just to end on the amount of points we had last season, and 19 / 20 out of the 28 to stand a chance at the play offs taking into account last season’s final points tallies, so I guess it depends on what your expectation of ‘turning it round’ is

I expect top six form and top six results from our top six deck.

The sooner people drop this ludicrous talk of the playoffs or even top 10 the better.

The bottom line is we we have quantity but very little quality (probably only Wright and he's patchy).
We need to balance out the squad and buy a couple of quality players who can make a real difference.
Easier said than done especially when most the money has been (poorly) spent.

EMCs overhead kick was amazing. Was he offside by a lot?

Also, for their second goal it seemed like two players had the chance to.clear but didn't. Rubbish.

Was a very anti King sentiment around me last night. Also a lot of Cockney accents which I found odd

Nothing like that around us. No mention of King or Robins. Just that brief "Rhys Carr's Sky Blue Army" and the usual moronic chants like, "Is the Blackburn fan your Mum?'. WTF, so embarrassing..

Burnley will not finish in the automatic positions on that performance, we have no consistency at all whether that's due to chopping and changing to find a best line up or injuries but we are miles off the pace. We need to make a choice as to who the GK is for a start so the back line has some sort of stability, I am not a Collins fan but if its him he needs a run. We are desperately short of an organiser who can shout instruction from the back, the fact we have not replaced the knowledge of old heads who can talk the team through a game is coming home to roost. Game craft is so important and who ever at the club thought we had leaders in the group was wrong, so much for all the psychology bollocks and getting the players with the right temperament.

We’re going to stay up on the last day and half this forum is going to claim it’s a great achievement aren’t they?

"...third of the season has gone..."

Funnily enough you need more than 20 points to finish in the top 10. You need about 65-70 which requires us to maintain playoff form for the remaining games.

This squad’s wild inconsistency will not manage that.

5 points is reachable everything else is waffle frankly. Teams go through peaks and troughs on form over a season.

That is based on previous seasons. Look how spread the points are this year, it’s going to be lower than usual

64 got top 10 last season.
That's 1.5 points per game. That's not play off form.
If we're not aiming for top 10 then we've really lowered the bar.
I'd still be satisfied with just missing out on that and hitting 11 or 12th.

Setting arbitrary targets is meaningless at this point.
We are so close to the relegation zone that that will inevitably be the focus. Safety first.
Good luck to them because it's a mess.

Yep. Totally this. I don't care if "a third of the season has gone". The new manager WILL have to improve the results and our position. If he doesn't then it will have all been a bit pointless.

We needed someone like Josh Cullen, who ran the game for them.
We looked like rabbits in the headlights last night , not Kings' 'good enough deck for top 6', the fucking numpty.
Where was the side that ran Sheff U close by working hard, they went back into passive mode last night and tried to get away with a draw, who set them up like that then?
Sad to say, we will struggle to get mid-table with this team and people are saying we only need two or three additions in Jan, we've been saying that for 3 fucking windows now!!!
So far, Team ipad 2 points from a possible 9, and I know it's against teams at the top, but is that any better than Robins would have achieved??

I was talking about recent form mate. It’s generally considered that form is circa the last 6 games.

The point I’m making is that I don’t see the rush to fire him before having someone else lined up. If he wanted Robins gone, that’s up to him and he has the right to make that call but I think it was naive to do it before having a plan in place, especially given that the results over the previous 6 games before Derby was play off form based on ppg.

the last 6 games included the Derby game -we got 7 points in the 6 games

The day robins got sacked we were 7th in the last 5 games form table . That's it

Well it’s not as we were one point off the drop zone and we had 7 points in 6 games which included defeats to the mighty Derby, Sheff Weds and Preston
