How will it impact Cov Rugby? Are their fans somehow disloyal or something?
Not seen anything anywhere else to confirm this request to the FL either...maybe it is true, maybe it isn't?
I'm not surprised that you don't see any logic. You never do.
All down to the FL. So how do you know nothing can be done when it can be done elsewhere? That's because your statement has no logic.
Just been confirmed by Eastwood on the radio. Oh and oddly an acknowledgment we may have less traditional Saturday games.
Perhaps you'd better tell Nicky he's wrong as well
Wasps have applied to the football league to have fixture preference and to play on Saturdays.
Thought they didn't want to harm the local rugby club either?

Are you saying that the rugger lot wouldn't or couldn't change any weeks Wasps play at 'home'?Because if the football grants it and they fixtures are already out why would the rugby union change fixtures to accommodate a football team.
Where else has it been done?
It isn't is it? Those that ground share the football club issues their fixtures first and the rugby club works around them. If Wasps are wanting to ensure they play Saturdays then at best the FL have to agree to moving our fixtures to Sundays where they clash, at worst none of our games will be scheduled for Saturdays. So how do you know nothing can be done when it can be done elsewhere?
But it is down to the FL to start with. They would most probably talk to SISU if they were considering it.we could salute the magic of Tranmere in the 80s and play on a Friday night!
Worryingly, this might help sisu put a case to FL for moving us out of Cov again.

Was that on CWR?Just been confirmed by Eastwood on the radio.

Just to be clear as to what they are applying for. Is it
- to have primacy on the choice of dates/day? (which means they could still stick with Sundays but if a fixture demands it move to a Saturday and CCFC have to make way)
or
- to play all their games on a Saturday?
or
both?
I won't believe it until Italia and Peeler appear to defend itTo play games on a Saturday at 3
Like I said earlier in the thread it equated to something like five games the last time they tried this and it wasn't a particular success. Why would their sporting body bother if wasps get primacy they will not lodge a request - whose going to request a change in their fixtures?
What about the numerous cup games they play? Also if primacy is removed they could try and get other events on vacant Saturday's for them.
Are we required to have primacy in accordance with FL rules?
So we are talking about people that don't want to watch CCFC?People want to watch rugby on both Saturday and Sunday currently. If they move Wasps to Saturday, it might stop people going to watch Cov Rugby.

Surprised they waited this long. Hopefully the FA will just make sure our Saturdays don't clash.
The FL 'interpreted' the rule as the FL being the competition therefore we were at the same level as Northampton. We didn't when we were at Sixfields. Under FL rules we should have had primacy because we were in a higher league
How would it work in practice? Would our fixtures come out with us playing Saturdays and then getting moved as required as has happened a couple of times already. No it means any games will move to a Sunday or Friday.

TV will move a fair few of Wasps league & European games to Friday and Sunday's anyway.
Probably play at home on a Saturday when they can like at the minute.
Surely a large portion of their fan base are involved in rugby clubs when Sunday afternoons is probably the time they aren't playing or any kids games on.
FL can't insist that we have priority over Wasps.
They could presumably prevent us from playing at the Ricoh if a satisfactory arrangement couldn't be reached, but they will surely expect the two clubs to come to an agreement.
As we don't have any arrangement at the Ricoh going forward it would have to be part of the discussions.
Seems to me that Wasps are putting up obstacles which can be removed in exchange for a better deal (for Wasps)
Does that have any legal standing or is it just a promise like Wasps will not have any impact on CCFC?Yes they can the ground currently gives priority to the football ground - unless there is an exceptional circumstance at present wasps cannot insist we change our fixtures - this action will change that.
