CA: Lease Extension At Higgs Ignored (3 Viewers)

I agree with you for once, a request for a comment from Breed would've helped.

Oh my days! We've found common ground.

There seems to be a general consensus that all bad feelings need to be put to one side and answers sought - this article could have achieved that if Breed had been asked/pressed for an update on their position.

But the Higgs / Council do have interest in CCFC?

I'm sure they used to !
It doesn't look like it now though does it.
Maybe they are fed up with court action at every turn and think this is the only way to end it by cutting all ties ?

So now both need to be pushed to find out who is bullshitting? Whether it is the club or CSF they both have questions to answer.

2 completely different statements, somebody is lying.

I did predict he would say the club was leaving though and refer to newspapers

Predictable and a waste of time, it was obvious they would just continue to say the club said they were moving out (which was about 18 months ago now) and ignore that for the last 6 months we have repeatedly said we want to stay

So on one hand you say they aren't conspiring against CCFC and the next bit saying who on earth would work with them, which is basically the first bit you said you wouldn't believe?
If somebody is hated by everybody ,its not a conpiracy. There just no good!

Think its very telling that the response from CSF makes absolutely no mention of any possibility of the academy remaining at Higgs.

Said earlier in the thread who cares what happened last March. Since Anderson has been here, which was prior to CSF taking ownership of the centre, the message has been consistent from him. That he wants the academy to remain at Higgs.

Simple question for CSF to answer. Can the academy stay or not?
I think from the latest statement, the door is firmly closed.

About the idea? I mean wtf?!?
You've missed off a key part of that quote.
“In fact, discussions were held with CSF not too long ago about the idea of using the Academy as part of a long term vision for the centre – e.g., the use of the club’s sports science staff as part of the community benefit mission of the Higgs Centre.
Where he's saying part of the long term vision for the centre he's distinguishing between the centre itself and the academy based there. The suggestion being that the club allows its resources to be used for the benefit of the community in line with the objectives of the centre.

There will hopefully come a point where the love of Coventry City will supercede the hatred of SISU.

Considering that its a supposed 'fresh start' on both sides with new people involved, there still seems to be a spectre hanging over the whole saga for some reason. Someones pulling the strings on one or both sides and putting the spanner in the works on it.

Sadly we have Sisu in charge who have single-handedly pissed off every possible avenue they can go down while in control of the club. Certain People and Organizations will not work with our owners, in fact they will work twice as hard within the laws to make it so hard for Sisu to shit without paying for it. They want Court costs paid back, they want court cases to stop as they feel its been going on to long with the same result been found over and over again. No trust, no communication and worst of all a complete dislike for Sisu by the parties that matter.

Now is this right? is this fair on Sisu? to be honest my opinion is its probably not, but sisu are a common denominator in every balls up this club has and is still going through. These are now crying about the fact all that could and should help are turning their back and saying this ship has sailed!!!! remember that TF classic, eating his words now the idiot. Great idea to break a rent deal and move the club out of the city and now cry nobody helps us in our city. He didn't care that Northampton wasn't in the city then? and that is the problem. Sisu need the city when it suits them and for people outside the club who don't care about football would see the same.

We as fans are being used in a very obvious and disgusting way and all parties now are fighting each other without a care to what happens to the club and its fan base, all should be ashamed of what they have done in the last 9 years to this club. This problem will not go away until Sisu leave, pay up or decide they will forget about court and focus the energy's on running the club.

I fear for this club, it's sad to watch time go by with it being stripped and broken to the point when in the end we will have nothing, Sisu no matter what have to take this part of the collapse and except decision's made by them have cost them money and maybe us a club.

Why should the CSF worry about court action by SISU against CCC. CSF are an independent charitable trust according to their website.

I'm guessing something that was sent in by CSF rather than a two way conversation as the obvious response if it was Reid / Gilbert actually talking to them would be to question why they are referencing statements made years ago but making no mention of the more recent dialogue with Anderson around the academy staying long term.

Worries me that this seems very similar to how the Ricoh deal was done. On the one hand CCC were talking to CCFC and saying in the press that trust could be built up etc while at the same time they were agreeing a deal with Wasps. This seems exactly the same. CSF talking with CCFC and saying in the press that the door is open while in reality a deal is done with Wasps and CCC.

Must admit, I thought you were suggesting they do what Nick has suggested they do. approach both sides...

That's exactly what I was suggesting. This should have been done before going to print with one side of the story.

I'm hoping that the council and Higgs are playing the long game where they are trying to get SISU to sell the club. Once new owners are in place then everything will be different. CCC will do anything and everything to get the club back to the top. Butts Park Development - of course great idea....... Need the road infrastructure changed - of course no problem. Etc etc....

I know this is pure fantasy but this is all I've got to cling onto in terms of our clubs future. Sad times.

Hopefully for some there will come a point when they realise that Sisu are no good for our beloved club. Because currently some still blindly follow them in the name of CCFC.

No one thinks SISU are good for Coventry City.

They won't answer, they will continue to ignore the football club, maybe string them along by telling them there is a chance and they will put out there copy and paste statements anytime a question is asked. When the lease is up they will move CCFC out and wasps in and we will be fucked again.

Yes, because there will be a long queue of people to buy without an academy or stadium.
Only need one. Surely there would be one consortium wanting to invest in a club based in a city with a population of 300k and no other rivals? There is definitely potential.

If you were a fan of the club with millions to spare you would have already tried to buy it. If you weren't a fan of the club but fancied owning a team we would be right at the bottom of the list.

I hold the same hope but don't believe it will happen. The council can no longer distinguish between the club and its owners. I don't believe the councils attitude would change even with an ownership change now. If the ownership change had happened 3 years ago then maybe the councils attitude would have changed but too much has gone on now.

Off course they can differentiate between
the club and Sisu its you that seems to have the problem managing it.

I didn't miss that bit off as it wasn't there for me to quote by Stupot. But thanks for clearing it up.

Edit to add. Good idea by CA /CCFC, give the rehab team some people to look after other than Reda

Applies even more when you're talking about councils and charities who should be able to rise above and operate in the best interests of the city. I can't see how the long term damage being done to the club is in the best interests of the city.

And for me Dave, this is the most important element of this whole saga. The club will be here much longer than SISU. There's dozens of thousands of people in the city who have some form of vested interest in a club that has been an integral part of the city since 1883.

To assist in it's demise because of personal vendettas is a sorry and sad state of affairs. The way the club are going, we'll cease to exist in 5 years. SISU can take half of the blame and ride off into the sunset. The custodians of the city would have a relatively unhappy portion of the cities population to consider for decades to come.

Back on topic, the Trust need to approach the CSF immediately to press for a reaction and set up meetings with some form of mediation. If Steve or CJ or Jan is reading this...please get on the phone to the CSF and ask the question...I just feel like the clubs last functioning vital organ is about to be cut off...

Lol !!
How do you expect our club to achieve anything or work with anyone whilst carrying a big albatross on our back namely Sisu ?
Nice try to deflect you babbling baboon, you said some blindly follow but it doesn't happen.

Now fuck off back to the hole you crawled out from prick.

Of course it also doesn't help when the local council, a franchised rugby club and local charities are falling over themselves to fuck the club over.

But hey, Sisu out!! etc

I totally agree Mark,
But I honestly can't see a future for our club with Sisu at the helm.
