Never heard of him, but a quick look at YouTube highlights (I know!!) would suggest to me that he would be competition for O’Hare, as well as giving another option in AM if we went 1 up front. Warming to the idea.

We did but all those fees came on the back of large incoming fees from Maddison, McNulty, Chaplin, Bayliss, McCallum add the kick back from the Callum Wilson transfer to Newcastle, thats about ten million all in maybe more don’t think there will be much if any incoming fees this summer.
But should we stay up that’s about to be topped up with the TV money which is significantly higher than in league one, and a soon to return of crowds of 20k+

A lot of those fees you talk of have covered 2 years of Covid and playing in Birmingham on reduced crowds. Besides, who’s to say we won’t sell at Hamer for a significant sum and buy 3/4 players that way

All clubs have been the same for over a year to sell players you need clubs with money to spend outside the Premiership I doubt there’s many if any.
To get good dollar for Hamer you need a prem club to want him.

Yes he was. Pre SISU , he was one of the Paul Fletcher era “Operation Premiership” junta.

He was interviewed on Radio Manchester last week and I recognised his name from being part of the Coventry board for a while. Good start for him as Wigan won away 4-1.

As good a player as he might be..potentially I would like us to sign proven players at championship level..

I wouldn't; given our budget limitations I prefer that we continue the strategy of buying young players for not much money whom others have overlooked.

If you *buy* proven Championship players (as opposed to take them at end of contract for free, which I'd be fine with), you are either:

- Spending money on players who aren't good enough to take us forward to the next level.
- Spending loads of money on one player to the detriment of strength across the team.

Buying proven, quality known-name players is for the wealthier clubs.

This lad's been short-changed if he doesn't get his name sung to the tune of 'Shang-A-Lang' at some point in his career.

I am very disappointed you went for the Bay City Roller option over The Chiffons.

Dear me, what's the world coming to.

Based on?
The last time we saw him actually play for any period was the first half of the season in League 2. We had brief appearances in League 1, including a nice goal at Southend. But that is it. When he came on against Luton or Barnsley, can't remember which, he just looked like a boy who would be sat on by a defender as good as say Dabo. If Shipley and Allen are not good enough for Championship I am pretty certain Jones isn't either.

Were he with another club, we would not be touching him with a barge pole.

Not physically robust enough, even before the injuries. The demands of the Championship will be much too great. Not sure why we renewed, unless it is a charity case.

So it’s an opinion. Your post made it sound definite, like you knew something, like you had inside information, like your opinion had value.
