Heard he's been signed by Saudi pro side Al Sukmicok for a lucrative 6 grand a second.

It does make some sense tbf,

he gets a chance to win promotion and become a premier league player with us,

And when you consider that he was out injured for the back end of the play off season and much of last season, he may consider promotion more achievable if he has a full season fit and playing.

He may also be convinced to stay when he hears about the quality we're being linked with.

He could also use next season to convince other clubs that he's finally over his injury issues, and can play a full season.

From the clubs point of view, we get to keep a quality player for another year, with only his wages to pay.

So there's a good argument for a 1 year contract.
However I think it's a long shot now. I'd be very surprised if he isn't playing somewhere else very soon.

No chance of it happening but if it did... it would be stupid from our point of view.

Basically letting him put himself in the shop window for another year and he then leaves for free. We're then a year behind in replacing him and have stalled the development of our players who get less minutes.

This goes for any player, if you don't want to be here for at least the next 2 years, you can leave.

Yeah, I'd much rather have a player of O'Hare's quality for another year than not at all.
If he was the difference with us reaching the Premier League or not, that extra year would be priceless.

Can't see it happening though. I imagine he's already got somewhere else lined up

He's leaving on a free anyway though?

I kind of agree with you on stopping the development of others but there's no guarantees others will be as good. At least we know that O'Hare is a quality player.

I'd take another year. I don't think it'll happen though.

He’s very clearly rejected the contract cos he thinks he’s worth more

A 2 year deal is the minimum for either party. He’s 26 and if he did his ACL again, for arguments sake, that’d be a disaster for him. This is his penultimate big contract, he’ll get one more big offer if he’s good around 30.

As for the club, why sign him to a one year deal to be back to square one? At least on a two year deal we can sell him for something in Jan / next summer.

Besides, he isn’t coming back and that’s ok. There will be better players out there.

He’s played a few times in 2 years. He’s already signed for someone most likely. Not sure why it’s still a topic.

Or he believes someone will give him a chance to play at a higher level (which normally means they can pay more)

I need someone to translate this writing. Honestly can't understand it.

As for the picture, I would say there's no way of knowing it was him, but with a handbag like that it wouldn't surprise me if it was!

No one get excited with this btw

But we offered one last roll of the dice a few weeks back and as of this moment it's still in play

That's not to suggest he's staying, it's just made him think twice before pen to paper elsewhere apparently

It seems the offer from abroad wasn't as appealing as it first seemed

Not sure what he’s done to deserve an increased offer since last time. Barely played, had little impact, and the market has determined he’s not worth much. I’d be reducing the offer if anything.

I think its more a case of he hasn't had the offers at the level he thought he would get, so we have said here's the same as before with more bonus increases, sign it or don't, if not we'll move on

Had a feeling that the O’Hare saga wasn’t over when the club didn’t confirm him as leaving in the retained list. Guess we’ll see where it ends up going.

It could be like a new signing if he signs, everyone loves him, he could be the player to get us into the top 2 come May

as long as we havent offered more than the "this is your max offer" he originally had, all for him staying, would reduce the amount of signings we need by one!

Absolutely shouldnt break the structure for him though

Really was a weird one on the last day of the season, just didn't feel like it was a goodbye from him.

Honestly not too fussed with if he stays or goes, would just like to know so we can all move forward.

Probably not helped by him charging into contract negotiations talking about how his wages should "slap".

Will let him off for the way he speaks if he stays, though

We didn't really expect him to sign 4 years ago to be honest. Would be brilliant if he does stay. Palmer, Torp. O'Hare, Wright, Mason-Clark, Sakamoto, Simms and Tavares. Not bad.
