They haven’t won away at Cov in 100 years and we seem to want to sign half of their team from last season. Probably more sick of the sight of sky blue than Michael Carrick

2 million isn't peanuts is it? And 29 minutes experience against 124 games is the same isn't it? Plus Hungary and curaçao are easily the same level too. I take it back. He's nowhere near Hamer's talent but as a box to box midfielder, what he does have would give us an exceptional replacement and would fit in with our other CMs.

This time last year paying a transfer fee for anyone was out of the question. Whoever is signed it’ll be with their attributes in mind and the club will have done its homework.Let's just not bring in players for the sake of it. They need to be better than what we got. That's all I'm saying.

My feeling is still that two CMs are needed anyway and if there’s a player who fits what we’re looking for at a fixed £2m then it would make sense.
