If we spend £3m on players: great business.

If we throw away 20 goals a season to pay for Joy's jolly in Northampton: fucking scandalous.

I agree but looking at the signings Pressley has made you have to be concerned

I am a little concerned. But we don't know who decides who comes in. We know who decides who goes out though.

Why would SP get any of the transfer fee to re-invest in the team ?
The clubs assets and future assets are owned by the Arvo Masterfund, they will receive the transfer money !!

This has been going on for a long time and Wilson did not want to go but will not have a choice.

Of course he has a choice. He is under contract and decides where he plays.

He will have the choice. Play for us in Northampton or play for Forest who could be on their way to the Prem with big gates and a club owner who is putting money into the club.

Thanks for last season Wilson. Without your goals we would be in Division 4. Good luck in the future.

Random question: Does anyone think this deal (along with Leon & the Arsenal cash) might actually put us into profit this year? Assuming none of it is spent of course (which it will be, even Sisu aren't mad enough to do this in the middle of a PR campaign).

It depends on how much they had to pay the bomb squad and if you include the interest payments on what our club owes to SISU. Our wage bill won't be that big.

You know what? At the risk of sounding like italiahorse, if we sell him and we aren't back at the Ricoh this season I'm done.

sycophantic attention seeking nanny pamby bottle boy..............

Having said that got to agree with you unless when he is sold at least 50% of the money is given to SP on top of the already agreed budget

The majority of these articles all seem to link to one another, one media article posts a rumour and suddenly it's in 5 papers all referring to each other rather than checking themselves. I think it's very likely he is going to be sold weather thats today im not sure but reporting on this sort of stuff seems to be very poor with very little fact checking.

Sounds like the CET have actually checked those facts now though and are about to tell us if its really true, wouldn't it be better if they'd done that before the posting of the previous article?

50% bollocks, all of it is needed to improve this joke of a squad, don't know whether I trust Pressley to spend it wisely though.

And people still want to attend Sixfields?

Will you not finally wake up like the rest of us have?

Or do you like a prolonged death?
Its not about how shit the team is ,ofcourse I'd love it if we had a premier league standard team but we don't we are where we are,I will support the boys with my heart and soul,I'm not prolonging our death,I'm supporting the team that I love, sure it would be nice to see a few signings and keep wilson and murphy, but if we don't I will still be there for the club and most importantly the players !!! #PUSB !!!

This is a very poor division with say 10 decent teams in it. A decent investment like brenford did last year with 300k signings and you're there really.

I wouldn't mind selling Wilson if it meant signing 6 quality players. Plenty of frees around also doesn't have to be a free just tempt them with wages but no doubt we will sign A lower league player and expect him to do the business.

Following blindly more like.

If we all did the same they wouldn't need to give us a squad or team to be happy with.

SP will have to be very political in how he talks about this if it goes, i can't imagine he will be happy with having to find players that he can afford that are the same calibre he is losing. But that's why he has hired always worked with low budget squad's and always towed the club line,, shame we are losing key players but our current situation it can't be any other way.

IT'S NOT TRUE!

http://www.coventrycity-mad.co.uk/news/tmnw/wilson_not_forest_bound_834346/index.shtml?

Callum Wilson, according to the Coventry Observer's Steve Carpenter, is not bound for Nottingham Forest. The East Midlands side are signing two strikers today and there were rumours that Callum Wilson was one of those two, who now appear to be Matty Fryatt and Excelsior striker Lars Veldwijk.
However, Mr Carpenter has tweeted that there has been interest in Wilson from four Championship clubs but all offers have been rejected by the Sky Blues.

Callum Wilson is not signing for Nottingham Forest today, the Coventry Telegraph can exclusively confirm.

We all know he will not be at Coventry in August. I think we'd all support him going for £3M if the proceeds were reinvested in the team but that won't happen.

I don't mind him going, it's inevitable really. Obviously I'd rather he did stay. It's just the fact he could go for 20 million, and the playing team will not see that money, it will cover "costs" :(

if our crowds were mid timmys optimistic suggestion say 5k instead of 1.5k

thats an additional say £1m of revenue over the season (being optimistic with the pie money)

so if sisu are really backing us - sell wilson for £3.5 - take £1m out to cover tim being a plank, and then invest the other 2.5m ( 2 year contracts to a new squad - would double our wage budget over night)

But of course we know that wont happen

He's not going to Forest or anywhere it's called rumour and gossip.
But if he's here at the start of the new season that will be great news, but we are Coventry City remember !

Brentford built over a couple of seasons, the likes of Donaldson, trotta (2 season loan spells), Forshaw, etc.

And this dude had invested £15.2m in 7 months

How come? (obviously it's not true now, but) that would've been over £4m in unexpected income. You think we've lost more than that at Sixfields? I suppose as Astute said the bomb squad would've cost a bit to get rid of, plus who knows what we spent on the likes of Delfoneuso and the other loanees.

I was hoping that without the sale if Callum we would be making about six signing due to the decimation of the squad.
So 1.5 million directly to SP on top of that should allow the signings of two more striker on top of the other two we needed anyway

We lost £7.2m last year at the Ricoh not paying rent. Turnover was £6.6m That was will selling bigi, keogh £1m each (not all support front), 2x big cup pay days (arsenal and tottenham). Our gate receipts were £2.9m. Plus promotion payments for turner and Gunnar.

So even if we've managed to half the wage bill (includes all staff) that would put us at £3.6m loss...but then we've lost at least £2-2.2m revenue so that puts it back up to £5.6-5.8m loss. That's before you factor in whether arsenal and Clarke is more than we got last season from bigi/keogh/Gunnar/turner & arsenal/tottenham.

i like how everyone believes it is a done deal so they can slag the club off.

of course if wilson is not sold they will just wait for the next rumour.

Forgot about the relegation sales and Turner.

Does that £7.2m include money owed to Sisu or was it all external payments?

Where the hell does our cash go?

I think if their were any truth in it a. The club would not be denying it as they have in the Telegraph and b. The deal would have already been done as our owners could not resist that kind of money. NOPM
