I’ve no idea, I’m not really bothered either way and I don’t see how it matters- I was interested in the proposal that they were personal friends, which as it turns out is a guess presented as fact
Why would you say you'd known somebody 20 years if you weren't friends with them or weren't trying to imply that you had some form of relationship with them?
He personally recruited him as he has known him for 20 years
It clearly matters as people are claiming he was foisted on Robins by King and is responsible for the recruitment that has led to Robins demise. You have been liking posts from Astute which have directly said that
King: We need a new head of recruitment. Mark, who would you suggest? He personally recruited him as he has known him for 20 years

So essentially what we have here is you said Robins was personal friends with Dean Austin- which has been shown to be at best a guess based on the article you put up.
Maybe Robins did select him, it’s not really of huge concern to me- but don’t make things up.
He did select him as he has known him for 20 years
Still mate you are siding with Astute which is kind of fitting in a way
if it’s that important to you ok, I don’t mind, it’s a forum. I draw the line at being accused of “siding with” GIMOC though.
and don’t make things up
You have been totally exposed here and the squirming is funny
And yet strangely I don’t feel the pain that your remark is designed to elicit, whereas you clearly don’t like being once again called out for lies- the reason being that unlike your good self this place isn’t my life, and I don’t really mind what is said
The irony of who started this thread certainly isn't lost on me. Anyhow, I have been thinking about this for a couple of days and I'm wondering it is down to fans (particularly younger fans) being spoilt with the relative success we've had under Mark Robins for the last seven years. This is despite the desperate attempts of some on here to dismiss his tenure as a failure.
Those of us who watched Coventry City in the 80s will be used to losing, scrabbling around the relegation zone and, apart from the odd occasion, having few bright spots amongst the gloom.
Last season, despite the brilliant cup run, was the first year since Robins became manager that we didn't see an improved league position. Maybe that was the catalyst for the current malaise. Who knows?
I haven't lied and it is very clear you have a wafer thin skin.
As for "living on here" - given the fact you have had (and I think still do) multiple accounts it’s a little bit ironic really.
You do live on here, you know everything everyone has said going back years
Anyway- there’s no need to be scrabbling around trying to run down what Robins achieved, it’s kinda blatant.
You always throw my name into things, it's weird and i don't think that so stop making things up. Please and thank you.Not sure why the new obsession with Grendel et al is to somehow try and prove that Robins' tenure was a failure. Ask 99.9% of fans if they think it was. They'd say no. Ask Grendel, Nick, TomRad, etc and they'd say yes. Like you say, it's pretty obvious his time at Coventry City was a success.

Still crying about it? Fucking hell.
For reference , you can use the search function to search for a word associated with a user .You do live on here, you know everything everyone has said going back years

The whole tenure was clearly not a failure but the downward spiral was evident and there is no loyalty in football.
Thing is mate, i only ever give my opinion on here, its never a quest to point score unlike some. I can't be blamed if many of my opinions hold up wellHaha. Nice one.
I've done a search (thanks for Evo for the reminder) and the only time I ever mentioned you was just now. You must have been thinking of someone else.Thing is mate, i only ever give my opinion on here, its never a quest to point score unlike some. I can't be blamed if many of my opinions hold up well
Oh fair enough, I get misrepresented a lot. I don't think he was a failure at all but I 100% thought we needed to freshen things up now, felt like the right time to me.I've done a search (thanks for Evo for the reminder) and the only time I ever mentioned you was just now. You can say this about literally every team in the division (uhh except Sheffield United I guess)It would only take a Hamer to completely change our fortunes.

People can disagree and that's fine, the only person that mattered did agree though.
I think this is fair enough. I think the point is that yep he has gone, and yep it was a bad start to the season.. but trying to say- as has happened and is happening- that the entire last 12 months were garbage, and trying to make out Austin was hired because of a personal friendship with Robins - it’s nasty, not even true, and just designed to downplay what he brought to all of us.

It's nasty to say Austin was hired because he knew Robins? Ermmm.
The defenders have been poor, no doubt, but our midfield aren't really helping.
If you wrapped Sheaf in sirloin steak and threw him in a tiger enclosure he wouldn't sense the danger.
try reading it again
Don't give me any ideas Clint! There's a few of our players I wouldn't mind throwing in the tiger enclosure.
*This is just a joke and isn't literal for anyone that wants to piss the bed.
I'm not the one with comprehension issues, you are the one who wrote it.
Nonsense as per usual.

Neither is the 3 you are cherry picking. Really boring in every thread.
