We can extend it to seven years’ worth of matches if you like, avoid any cherry picking.
Absolutely, and that's why I didn't want Robins sacked as I didn't see him as the problem.

My issue is with peoples hypocritical nonsensical arguments.

Neither is the 3 you are cherry picking. Really boring in every thread.
What's your idea of cherry picking?

The 3 games chosen were 3 games on the bounce just before Robins was shown the door. Cherry picking would be naming the 3 best or worse games not close to each other.

Don't try play the innocently naive. Everyone can see what people are doing by picking specific games.

As I say I was Robins in, so it isn't about that. It's like saying Lampard had a 100% win record if you take the 85th minute onwards. Just gets silly.

Just as an aside, in the games I have attended this season including the Werder Bremen friendly, we have conceded 2 goals in 7/9 matches 🤷‍♂️
The defence really is giving our opponents a great chance of a result.

You have tried to airbrush those who have signed and sanctioned the players coming in. You tried to make out they were the choice of Robins although offering no evidence.

You agree the squad isn't good enough. Seems to me like those who wanted rid of Robins are trying to change history.

Or would you like to explain the role of Austin because I have already shown you where Robins wasn't happy that he couldn't bring in the players he wanted.

You haven't shown anything other than a telegraph article with an opinion piece on loans

Dean Austin was selected by Robins personally and appointed before King even owned the club and Robins has said he had the final say.

The irony of who started this thread certainly isn't lost on me. Anyhow, I have been thinking about this for a couple of days and I'm wondering it is down to fans (particularly younger fans) being spoilt with the relative success we've had under Mark Robins for the last seven years. This is despite the desperate attempts of some on here to dismiss his tenure as a failure.

Those of us who watched Coventry City in the 80s will be used to losing, scrabbling around the relegation zone and, apart from the odd occasion, having few bright spots amongst the gloom.

Last season, despite the brilliant cup run, was the first year since Robins became manager that we didn't see an improved league position. Maybe that was the catalyst for the current malaise. Who knows?

14 games .. with credit in the bank .

I dread to think how long lampard will be given by our support

It won't be as many games as 14 before supporters turn

I’m not sure… for starters I hope it’s not the case and we motor up the table. If on the other hand it doesn’t happen, those who wanted Robins out will just blame everything on his legacy, and Lampard will avoid blame.

Most of the players are perfectly good signings, a couple we've overpaid for sure but realistically the squad is incomplete and lacking a couple of players in key areas , we already know we failed to bring 2 top midfielders in and a loan player .

Long story short , the players are more than good enough as part of an overall better squad , I'm sure that will be addressed

I mean they were turning Saturday before singing his name after a fortunate penalty at the end.

I’ll be honest I don’t think the defensive signings are good enough

That's fair enough but we've made alot of signings over a couple of years .. I think we overpaid for a couple of players but barring that most of these players are perfectly good players who did well for the most part last year

So 3 consecutive games right before getting rid of Robins after having our annual bad start is cherry picking?

If these games were further back in the season I would fully agree. But it doesn't seem to fit some kind of agenda.

Robins has gone. Frank is our new boss. He has my full backing. Hopefully he will be given as long as needed and will bring success back to our club. But since King spoke on the reasoning of getting rid of Robins people have been piling on Robins, frequently twisting the truth. There's no need for it.

What you called an opinion piece was what Robins said word for word. That's why you wouldn't reply to it.

There was no suggestion he could not have a loan at all.

Oddly you won't reply to who appointed Dean Austin as he was a personal friend

Lampard has been in the job for 3 days

We’re not in the relegation zone

We’re scoring plenty of goals

Our best player will return from injury soon

We’ve got Jan coming up to address issues with the squad

Stop losing your minds over a DRAW.

We’ll be fine this season. We’re not getting relegated. We’ve seen what these players can do. Calm the fuck down and stop shitting the forum up with threads about how all our players are shit and other associated bollox.

Yup, there are positives...

The squad does not require major surgery, just a few canny additions.
Whatever you feel about MR's dismissal, FL raises the profile of the club over night and that could be very useful.
FL is an 'on the grass' coach which I think will be good for he players.

All is not lost.

Expectations were way too high and some errors were made with recruitment which will cost us, but can be corrected.

A couple of wins and the sky will be blue again!

Why just the 3 is the question ?
Because it suited his agenda is the answer.
Ignore the Derby game and ignore the games immediately preceding the 3 games .
That's cherry picking.

But you have to admit that there had been little to indicate that anything was improving and that MR had shown that he knew how to fix it.
However we all need to move on.

ironically, the defender we paid most for doesn't get a game. Maybe he should.

Yup, I said before. You put some good new signings into this team of ours and we will have a very decent team.

It would only take a Hamer to completely change our fortunes.

Another CB, a midfielder and a left back/right back (preferably someone who could cover both sides)

We would be a different proposition. Very good players around you can bring out the best in you.

Again, I said before, for those who remember, when we got Dennis Wise it changed us for the better, quite dramatically.

I recall Don Hutchison doing similarly not long after

I didn’t know they were personal friends, is this documented somewhere?

Robins on Austin

“I have known him for the best part of 20 years, knew him as a player, played against him when he was at Tottenham,” said Robins. “We have been on courses together and did our pro-licence together. He works his socks off every time I have seen him – when he was scouting for Southend he was in the car all the time, off to games and doing his pro-licence, his energy is incredible."

“He has been working for both Blackpool and St Albans City, and been instrumental in setting up their scouting network and processes. He is process driven and has good eyes. Because he’s been a player as well, he has a good set of eyes on him that can bring us some talent that we can hopefully sign, and moving forward, hopefully we can improve again."

“That’s what he has been tasked with. There’s a lot in his inbox at the moment so he has to make sure he goes through that methodically and make sure we get ready for both January and the summer.”

Where does it say they are personal friends? That just reads like an endorsement. There’s people I’ve known for 20 years and worked with who I don’t like at all but who I know are great at their jobs. Ultimately none of it matters anyway really.

So you are personal friends with everyone you’ve known for 20 years because they work in the same industry? Bit of a leap.

Did he recruit him? Yes or no?

Why would you say you'd known somebody 20 years if you weren't friends with them or weren't trying to imply that you had some form of relationship with them?
