Fair price for a one season wonder who won't step up. Yeah right. Bournemouth are still laughing about the price. Let's hope that there's plenty of add on's. I can quite easily see this kid go all the way and I hope he does. Good luck to him.

Waggott got us three great loan deals out of it...are they the sort of add on you meant?

good luck Calum

I was thinking more along the lines of plays X amount of games get some extra cash, gets promoted get some extra cash.

With the goals he's created and scored we would look odds on for both of them payouts.

Dunno about letting him go too early...as a Cov fan yeah, we could've done with his goals for longer.

As a football fan, wouldn't like us to stand in his way. And look at him, he'll be a premier league player next year.

I knew exactly what you meant. We never seem to do those deals...would the current owners tell us?

Doesn't matter if we get add one money or not.

We won't see any of it, just like the Arsenal, CW and LC money.

His pace and quick feet are a something special, it gets him out of the trouble his lack of touch puts him in, Friday's goal he lost control but was so rapid he got it back, the poor touch bamboozled the defender and he finished with composure. He knows where the goal is, he's learning on the job and hopefully he'll go to the Czech republic for the under 21's euros that seems below some of his fellow young 'stars'. Good luck to the lad.

Of course good luck to him - and of course the club could have held on to him for another season. If you say you're not selling and you mean it, they can't go if under contract. Nowhere near a fair price. He'll be nearer a 10m player within the next 12 months imho. If our owners act like cheap tarts pimping any of our players who can command a buck (and there aren't many), then they/we should hardly be surprised we get offered peanuts. For hard nosed businessmen they seem spectacularly bad in many areas of business (contracts, court cases, player purchases/sales :jerkit:)

Where are all the clowns who only a couple of months ago were saying £3m was a good price for us.

Next season he will be earning more than our entire team.

i was talking to some brentford fans a few days ago, and they were gutted they didnt up their offer for callum .

i feel very ambiguous when i see ex players doing well...i feel a sense of pride (especially in wilson's case) and a massive sense of look what we could have had if our feckless owners cared a shit about running our club correctly :(

At the time it was offered it was...

Was it bollocks. Anyone with half a brain could see what the lad was worth. Bournemouth are laughing and I bet most if not all the other championship clubs are kicking themselves that they didn't put an offer in giving what a steal he's proved to be.

Dont know about that mate. He had one good season in league 1 where we largely played over the top balls and he had pace and could finish.

If we didn't sell him and he turned out to be a flop this year everyone would be bitching about how incompetent SISU are that we didn't sell him...

FYI for selfish reasons I wish we'd have kept him but for him it's the best thing

like everything in life, its only worth what people are prepared to pay for it. Bournemouth offered the most, and took the chance on a young unproven forward from the league below (with a glass shoulder) like many teams have with young prospects in the past, it just turns out that he has proved a good, if not great buy, and on this season, he has definitely increased his value.

gutted we couldnt keep him for another season

£3m WAS a good price for Wilson when he sold him. The only other comparable transfer around the same time saw Nahki Wells go to Huddersfield for £2.5m (I think...might have been closer to £3m).

He's obviously worth more than that now but apart from the 3 loanees, if we did get £3m cash, then it was a good deal. People need to realise we're not a top 4 club...like pretty much every other club from the Championship down, we'll always sell our best players if a good offer comes in from a club in a better league position than us.

The only thing I pray for is that the owners put a sell on fee clause in the transfer as we could do very well out of that in the future.

Wilson will be a top player in the very near future. I can see one of the "top" teams making an offer he can't refuse and then he will go on to play for England. Watch this space!

It wasn't a good price.

Some people just hate being shown to be wrong, and those that said whatever we got for him was a good price were wrong. Even SP won games with Wilson in the team. That is when some of us thought SP knew what he was doing, ignoring the fact we were scoring lots of goals but letting in lots as well. They say it is worth 5m a year to get promoted. We need to find another Wilson. And can you imaging if we kept Wilson and had TM at the same time?

So we had to let Wilson go as we shouldn't have held him back? He didn't ask for a move. He was happy. And I am sure he would have preferred to be heading to the Prem with CCFC than Bournemouth. But no the excuses keep coming out.

Have you forgotten that those of us that said he could end up with a top club being called deluded for thinking so? Oh well, welcome to the deluded club :D

A bit ignorant Astute to say 'some people hate being shown to be wrong' when in fact, that's my opinion? As whether £3m was a good price for CW cannot simply be answered a black and white yes or no, it's open to debate and opinion. To dismiss my thoughts as being wrong is pretty much assuming you're right. But you might not be?

No excuses from me...I thought we should've held on to the lad and I agree that had we had CW whilst TM was here, we might have been on to something. But lets say we kept CW and SP was still in charge...what happens if CW had a stinker this season with us in an arguably poorer team this season and likely less service? Would he be worth the £3m we got for him? Probably not.

Don't insult others though if they disagree with your thoughts. Poor form.

So......many were saying that it was a good offer. A fair few of us were saying that it was a poor offer to accept and should hold out for more. We were told we were wrong. And now those that told us we were wrong are now saying that his value has gone up but that they were not wrong before still and those that wanted more were still wrong but it isn't poor form to say so :thinking about:

I didn't name you or anyone that did say so. It is just amazing sometimes on here how much some people try to make out that someone has said what they have not whilst backtracking. I said what I said then and still say the same.

So you are now saying that you think he would have been worth less than 3m if we would have kept him as the service to him would have been worse. The service wasn't great. But having him made us go forward. Just like it would now. And he would have had another seasons experience against worse players. He would have done even better. Or are you saying he would have done better against Championship defenders than Division 3 defenders? He gets the ball and runs at them. We were shit when he was with us. Look what happened when he wasn't playing.

So would you like to insult me again for disagreeing with you what you say whilst saying that it is poor form for me to do it?
