The events advertised are the ones the public/trade can go to. They apparently do corporate events and other stuff that isn't advertised but generates revenue. Also from experience you need a couple of days to put up and a day or so to take down a trade show.Have I read the same report as everyone else?
Apart from Springstein and the Tennis I can't see any large revenue generators in there. A venue of this size and flexibility needs to be putting on something 4 or 5 days of the week, not a handful a year. Question Time? Well that will pull the punters into the city won't it!!
Interesting to see the wedding business has dropped off. Maybe the appeal was to get married at the home of the Sky Blues rather than the Ricoh?
not quite the case though in terms of usage that is advertised though is it .....

Think you will find that they have had some major national conferences etc that are not publicised..... eg Boots and Sainsbury's national conferences
Like many conference and exhibition businesses not all their events are publicised. Also on some of the events there are set up/break up times to consider all of which the promoter concerned pays for. Will it be as busy as they would like no because they will have held back on booking alternative events because of keeping availability for CCFC - some events are planned and booked 6 to 12 months in advance and you cannot plug those gaps with major events easily. Is the business plan to rely on irregular big hit events or is it to attract and focus on smaller events and a more constant stream of income? It is not positioned to compete directly with the NEC.
There must be something going on there because they have been recruiting for staff recently.
The only info we have is what PWKH said the other day
Turnover 2011was £6.6m 2012 was £7.8m 2013 was £12.5m and 2014 is projected at £13.4m
Income from CCFC in 2013 figures total of £12.5m would have been Escrow account £336k match day costs £230k plus F&B income say £800k = £1.366m then you have to take out the cost of sales for F&B say £540K plus the match day costs recharged £230k net effect is a gross profit £596k on CCFC income. So when looking at the bottom line you can not simply take out the loss of rent and say that is what reduces the net profit.
The 2013 figures saw a loss of gross CCFC rental income from £1.347m down to £566k but Turnover apparently up to £12.5m from £7.8m that I suspect is an increase in turnover even if you take out the Olympic games effect.
Until proven otherwise you would have to go with the projection for 2014 which would be based on the 5 months already gone, the business that has been booked (usually 6 to 12 months in advance) and past experience. PWKH says the projection is for £13.4m without any income from CCFC.
Factor in the savings on profit and cashflow from the new loan, the non replacement of senior staff, and savings on utilities etc - is failure so certain as some would have us believe? Not saying it is going to be a gold mine but it is possible that the Ricoh can survive without CCFC isnt it?
Ideally CCFC would be at the Ricoh with some some security of occupation, but I think it is wrong to state failure of the Ricoh without CCFC as a fact - it isnt it is an opinion based on very few facts

Compared to most other "football stadiums" it looks pretty awful doesn't it. Weber Shadwick I assume are in overdrive but it looks even worse than I thought. Without a main tenant the arena will become White (elephant) City. If Leicester get their licence that will almost certainly be the death knell.

OSB58's links only show 18 days worth of events for 2014. There must be a hell of a lot of unadvertised events taking place!!
I make that 347 unaccounted for days. The Ricoh complex could easily host more than one event a day so this is very poor.
What is the purpose of ACL? A QUANGO that doesn't really need to exist. CCC could run it and remove the need for a middle man.

Compared to who come on link please you said most other?????
If they get a licence for what they only have the bowl and the surrounding concourse they do not have an arena attached or space to build one.
If you want tio use a example at least use one that is on a level playing field as the Ricoh?
Oh and if you love it that much then trot off and start supporting them, don't worry you won't be missed.
At least you now admit the Ricoh ACL and Coventry council are far more important to you than the football club.
As long as the Ricoh survives you are happy.
I admire your honesty but as this is a forum solely for the purpose of the football club, a club that's far more important than a decaying edifice in Foleshill, isn't it time you quit this arena and focused your efforts on your primary interest - ACL and the Ricoh arena.
Believe me me with no permanent tenant you face a tough time ahead. History is against you surviving.
On behalf of supporters of the football club good luck.

Just answer the question?
Yes the Ricoh does mean a lot to me it is in my City and I am proud of it.
I am a proud Coventrian and I will challenge anything that is slagged off in my city.
The Football club has been taken out of my City and as they are unlikely to return I am finding it harder to support them.
So you prefer sisu and Leicester to CCFC well done to you, you have also shown your true colours.
Mr G, if you think that we won't get back to the Ricoh, and you don't believe a new stadium will be built, what do you think our short term (say 3 years) and long term (say 5 years plus) future is?

Sorry I'm interested only getting the club back in Coventry and I don't give a stuff for who or what else is damaged as a consequence and anyone who cares more for concrete that the club is unfathomable. If it burnt down tomorrow I geniunely wouldn't care.
And if they get said ownership what sort of rental deal do you think will be applied?Clearly without stadium ownership an uncertain future awaits us.

These people that want Shitzu to get their grubby little mits on the stadium are totally deluded. They seem to believe that it would in some way be paradise.

This is good news for people worried that SISU Will succeed in stealing the Ricoh. Their intention was to starve ACL, but NOPM is starving them instead.
NOPM is officially dead. People are now happy to pump money into the hedge fund as Barnsley will prove.
I wonder if the football league will allow next season all their home games at the away venue? They'd be quids in then.

The report of NOPM's death has been greatly exaggerated. For what it's worth - Happy Christmas grinch.
