I don’t have the answer but it’s not a nice experience getting away by car now. We live locally too so I feel for fans who have a long drive ahead of them afterwards. Hopefully the buses are successful and they explore a few more routes. They know where many of us live so can surely see where they might be a few buses worth of us.

A simpler solution to the current situation would be to make traffic flow immediately but in a single direction depending where you're parked. Tesco side all funnelled back towards town, scrap yard side all out towards M6 or straight across, but keep the closure on the road by the stadium so people can cross without risk at the pinch point under the bridge. Once most of the traffic has moved, it eases the flow for those left who have chosen to park the opposite side to where they needd to get to.
Exactly. There’s 3 or 4 similar ideas I can think of that I feel would be relatively simple to implement and make a huge difference.

You are looking at 2025 before the overall works is finished so it wouldn't of fitted into an off season/
Also it depends when funds for the works become available, a lot of these works are grant funded and you can't really control when they come onboard.

I park away from the ground and walk 20/25 minutes. It doesn’t matter, the area, particularly on Saturdays is gridlocked.
The issue isn’t necessarily closing the roads, it’s the reluctance to open them up again when the crowds have long gone.

That is quite clear that this isn’t at the clubs primary instigation and that they have been told to ensure that road closures are implemented. Bizarre that WM Police Counter Terrorism group have anything to do with it. Easier for the police for the road to be closed than to actually have to - police it I suppose.

Other priorities
You can only assume that it is a terrorist target in a general sense at least you'd hope so,it was an area of concern after my recent run in with the response team as I immediately got on message with there attitude towards it, now whether that fear is real is another matter?
